Soda on board

So RCI lets you bring soda on embarkation day. Are we also allowed to bring soda on board at ports? Theoretically one could buy some soda from the local grocer.

The rule is that soda (and other non-alcoholic beverages plus two bottles of wine) are only allowed on during initial embarkation.  You experience may vary.

Weve brought on half a dozen cans of soda in Nassau a couple of times.

My husband buys Diet Coke in at least one port on every cruise.  It's never been confiscated or thrown away.
