yes, I love the idea of having a laundry. With airlines lowering the weight of luggage you can't possibally take enough clothes. So for the few $ to do a couple loads of washing, has to be cheaper than paying the airlines major $ for overweight luggage

I would rather pay the airline $25 for overweight luggage (which I have done:D ) than have to waste time on vacation in a laundry room. I don't even like doing it at home, let alone vacation.

I do the onger cruises mostly too and mostly with some pre and/or post cruise stay. But I owuld never use the laundry room. I just pack enough stuff and never ran out of anything. Only thing I have sent out in the past for being done is the formal clothes and I wouldn´t have done them in the laundry room even if there had been one.

Have been on Crystal and they had it. Never used it.

So RCCL save the space for more important things.

I would have to say, absolutely...YES! It is such a nice thing to have onboard so that you can launder some things in the event you have a accident or problematic stain.... and also w/kids you never know what they can get into. Also, for me I don't like having to come home and have to do a weeks worth of laundry. It's so hard washing things in the sink!! Just my opinion. I wonder if the Freedom will have them or at least give them a trial run. anyone from rccl listening????

I voted probably not. I don't find that underwear take up so much room, so we pack enough for the week. If I need to, I'll wash a bra or undies in the sink, but I really don't care for laundry hanging in the bathroom. Some clothes can be worn twice without laundering. If there are a few items that need to be cleaned or laundered, we send them to the ships laundry.

Our first cruise was on Disney Magic and we saw it had a laundry room, so planned to use it. Well, so did a whole lot of others, the line was out the door, down the hall, with waits approximately 2 hours and you did not dare leave the room. So, I turned right around and put the stuff back in the cabin and we made do with what we had.

When we have had cruises with pre or post days, I've just searched for hotles with laundry facilities. The morning before we are to embark, I get up early and wash what is dirty so far, then repack it. We've reversed this on post cruise days, where we'll check in and do a few loads to have enough to last till we get home. I'll add that we do have two kids, so we pack more than a couple would.

Seems there are multiple people with the word "Diva" in their screennames who want to do laundry onboard. What is wrong with this picture? :)

Guess I'll have to assume that y'all are opera singers who love doing their own laundry while on vacation. ROFL

I think what might be interesting to know is for all those folks who voted no how regularly do you work out?? Try going for a daily run and then let us know what you would like to do with those clothes. And, no, I'm not standing around in the bathroom washing them out in the sink.

I would use the laundry room and have on two ships before. When you are on a ship for 12-14 days, things just need to be washed. Knowing the right time is the key to not waiting in line.

We did a 14 day in Australia/New Zealand two years ago. Two nights before the crusie was to end I went down at 10:00 at night. Not a sole in the laundryroom. I had every washer and drying in the room to myself and I was out of the laundryroom in 1 hour and 15 minutes with everything clean. It helped that our cabin was two doors down from the laundryroom so I just went back to the cabin and read a book while things were washing. I specifically picked that cabin, because I planned on doing the wash. I would have hated going back to work with two weeks of clothes to wash at home.

I am on vacation === I do NO work. To me, laundry is work.

Besides, maybe TSA won't search your bags as much if they are filled with stinky laundry!!!;) I simply spray freshener in the suitcases once they are unpacked at home.

We have been on ships and in hotels with laundry facilities and have never used them. Aren't those dryers a fire hazard???

If I need something that is terribly soiled washed that badly I simply send it out for the cruiseline to take care of it! I also take along a fabric pre-treating "pen" so that bad stains won't set before laundering at home.

Sometimes my teens will send a T-shirt or underwear out for the ship to do - we laugh that it's the only time these things EVER get ironed!!!

Our running shorts (I walk, DH runs) are nylon and rinse out/dry in a flash. Since I walk early in the am, or late pm, it's cool and I don't sweat so much. I'll wear my tank top and shorts twice. DH only wears the shorts, no T.

I can't think of any material that I hate the feel of more than nylon when I am sweaty.

I never thought I would do laundry on a cruise, but I did on a 10 day cruise last April. I figured that packing clean underwear was better than packing the soiled stuff. I wouldn't do it on a 7 day or less cruise but a longer cruise yes is the answer.

I was shocked when booking the Mariner for this July that they had no laundry facilities. YUCK!!! I can't stand having soiled laundry around and smelling smoke from the bars and casinos on my clothes. I wasnt sure what I was going to do since I am used to having laundry rooms on previous cruises. I think I am just going to take a big lawn leaf bag and keep all dirty clothes in there. I don't want smelly laundry stinking up my suitcases!!

On a cruise? Never...with the exception of whatever I do in port and dancing in the disco. It is a drag hauling myself to the gym at home, so on my vacation I find other ways to be active. :)

Going to the gym is generally not called a "vacation-out" it's called "work-out"....a big NO WAY when I am cruisin'. :)

We usually did a load or two on our Princess cruises, never had a problem finding an empty machine, and seemed a minor inconvenience to lessen the amount of luggage space needed, and to get rid of damp clothes.

How much does RCI charge to launder items?

We are very excited as we just put a deposit on our first RCI cruise!!!

Yes, I'd like to know how much RCI charges to wash clothes as well? Carnival charges a ridiculous amount and hands you a tiny bag that you could maybe get a few socks in???

Does RCI offer to wash daily?
