xtrail Posted August 19, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2019 Staying 2 nights in Venice before Oct 6 cruise on the Star . Is there a way to get transport from hotel directly to the ship or can you only get to the port enterance and then walk.
euro cruiser Posted August 19, 2019 #2 Share Posted August 19, 2019 If you hotel has a dock, or is near one, you can take a water taxi right to the cruise port. A lot less expensively, if your hotel is near a stop on the Alilaguna blue line you can take that right to the port: https://www.alilaguna.it/en/lines/linea-blu
Rare cruisemom42 Posted August 19, 2019 #3 Share Posted August 19, 2019 (edited) However, be forewarned that the port is large and the drop-off point for Alilaguna may still involve a bit of a walk to the actual ship. I'm not sure whether water taxis are allowed to take you right round to the actual ship or not. xtrail Posted August 19, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted August 19, 2019 ok thanks , so depending where your ship is docked it could be a condiderable walk from where you get dropped off , no shuttles from the gate to ships ? , I aasume its the same coming back

mapleleaves Posted August 19, 2019 #7 Share Posted August 19, 2019 The Carlton ? If so, the Carlton is about a 10 minute walk, crossing 2 small bridges to reach Piazzale Roma. At PRoma you can catch a cab to the pier. Do you have mobility issues? or too much luggage ?

Earl Rosebery Posted August 21, 2019 #9 Share Posted August 21, 2019 No need to take a cab. There is a tram from P. Roma to the port. Cost 1-2 €. Some ships will have a shuttle from the port entrance to the ship. See Tom’s Port Guides or Italy for visitors/Venice for greater detail.
