LoraJ Posted August 20, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2019 I was wondering if anyone has had experience with where you can and cannot fly? We are on the Getaway next month from Copenhagen to Warnemünde, Tallinn, St. Petersberg, Helsinki and Stockholm. I believe we can fly it in Tallin, but not sure about the other places. And I am assuming drones off the ship at sea are a no-no.

Hezu Posted August 21, 2019 #4 Share Posted August 21, 2019 See https://www.droneinfo.fi/en for information about flying drones in Finland, includes maps of no drone zones, for example in Helsinki there is one in Kruununhaka around the Senate and Market squares. Although the site does not yet mention this, next year the drone flying in Finland is supposed to become slightly more restricted and you would need to do an online test to get a licence to operate a drone. I think that is the new EU-wide regulations. https://www.easa.europa.eu/newsroom-and-events/press-releases/eu-wide-rules-drones-published https://www.easa.europa.eu/easa-and-you/civil-drones-rpas https://ec.europa.eu/transport/modes/air/news/2019-05-24-rules-operating-drones_en

However, they might not be allowed to be brought on the cruise ship. I've heard that they can be confiscated by the cruise line and held in storage for the whole cruise and you'll get it back at the end. I don't think they want people flying them off the ship. Danish viking Posted August 23, 2019 #9 Share Posted August 23, 2019 In Denmark you are only allowed to fly them 150 meters away from populated areas and not near airports.
