While working with a Voom specialist to troubleshoot an issue they temporarily changed my account to allow 8mbps and then 20mpbs. So yes, each user is capped as a means to share the satellite connection. No different than what DSL and Cable internet providers do but on a different scale. At home on cable I can select and pay for 50mbps, 75mbps, 100mbps or 150mbps. Another option allows me to upgrade beyond that using one of their modems that requires a monthly rental fee. On the ship Royal only offer two speeds, Surf or Surf and Stream. There is no higher speed package available at this time. Perhaps the Captain enjoys a higher speed plan but that's speculation on my part. Edited October 6, 2019 by twangster

If you cannot "not work" then a cruise is NOT A Relaxing vacation! Rethink your priorities and "chill out" for a few days.. life is so...short enjoy while you still can! Different people have different priorities and situations. What works for you may not work for others, and vice versa. There are also people who love their job with all their heart, and a little bit of work on a vacation isn’t a problem at all. I love what I do and have reviewed plenty of plans and schematics while relaxing on my balcony at sea, I hardly considered it an inconvenience when I’d probably just be reading a book instead. outtoseacruise Posted October 15, 2019 #55 Share Posted October 15, 2019 This is how I set up my cabin desk so I can work from the ship. These were 2 of my pics from Oasis and Harmony last year. I do bring one of my desk IP Phones with me and also run the apps on my cell phones. When we are in port I will run off one of my Google Fi Hotspots if there is good 4G there?
