Pianogrl44 Posted October 6, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2019 For the first time we booked a guaranteed stateroom, suite category for our upcoming Thanksgiving cruise. The price was low enough with the sale this weekend that we upgraded to the guaranteed junior suite stateroom over the ocean view balcony. Now just hoping there aren't any issues but looking forward to the first time experiencing a slightly nicer room and double night points. Any experience with this category and the odds of getting an upgrade?

Palmetto Pilot Posted October 7, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 7, 2019 I've booked a W (suite guarantee) category 3 times 2 JS and 1GS. It's a great deal regardless.

Same with us, but this was years ago, before the upgrade fairy passed.
Rare twangster Posted October 7, 2019 #6 Share Posted October 7, 2019 Sometimes a WS can result in an accessible JS. These are sometimes held out of inventory that we all see on the website then in the weeks before a cruise they allocate unbooked accessible suites to WS bookings. Anything is possible depending on who has bid in RoyalUp, what muster zone they are coming from and how many guest are involved. RoyalUp has to work within the muster capacity of each station so it's possible they could put you into a GS to free up a JS that they could move a family of 3 or 4 into assuming the muster capacity is there to do so. You just never know but don't count on it.
Pianogrl44 Posted October 7, 2019 Author #7 Share Posted October 7, 2019 Thanks all, I’m assuming we will be in a junior suite and we’re quite happy with that! Anything else would be a pure bonus but not expected at all.
