Rare judi666 Posted November 16, 2019 #26 Share Posted November 16, 2019 It has been too cold to use the outdoor area in the Coffee Connection. But it seems nice. Blue lights on the theater stairs are very visible. In our Concierge suite, the sliding glass door has a very loud whistle if completely closed and locked. We have to leave it very slightly open to stop it. I thought this problem was to be addressed?
xrvlcruiser Posted November 16, 2019 #27 Share Posted November 16, 2019 Judi, I hope you reported the "whistle" to Reception . . . . I'm glad to hear that the blue lights are doing a good job! Thanks for your feed-back. Peggy

What a CRAZY night last night...rock and roll....shower door slammed everyh time the ship rolled one way or the other. Could not figure out a way to jam it/stop it. Others had sliding closet doors doing the same thing. Still rolling today but not nearly as bad. Capt says the weather forecast is steadily improving. tripperva Posted November 16, 2019 #31 Share Posted November 16, 2019 Sliding door issues? Put down towels or bathrobe. Or ask for a doorstop.

Could you put a towel down on both sides?. I did almost fall on my face on the last 6 ft to the bathroom door. Nothing to hold on to. It was pretty rough! happycruisingUK Posted November 17, 2019 #34 Share Posted November 17, 2019 Here is a photo of the new outdoor area of Coffee Connection. It has automatic doors to the outside. There is a space between two sets of doors and one closes before the second opens. Today is the first day since we set sail that anyone has used this area. We missed Casablanca and Agadir because of sea conditions. Tangier and a sea day were substituted and the rest of the itinerary was reversed. Today we are in Funchal, Madeira and the weather has been lovely. Hopefully the rest of the first part of this transatlantic cruise will be warm and sunny. Fingers crossed! 1

Looks like a nice morning coffee place. Wonder if you could get a beer, wine etc in the afternoon.

happycruisingUK Posted November 18, 2019 #38 Share Posted November 18, 2019 Rcandkc - I have asked at Coffee Connection for you about wine and beer. The answer is no but the Meridian Lounge is opposite and opens at 4pm. You can just get whatever you want there and take it outside. It’s no distance at all.
flossie009 Posted November 22, 2019 #39 Share Posted November 22, 2019 The new outside area for coffee looks good and should be very popular on warm weather cruises; thanks for the photos. I am very surprised that they did not focus on fixing this annoying issue during the refit ............. and a more permanent solution to the sliding closet doors that need to be wedged during rough weather. We have suffered both these issues during past cruises on Explorer and had hoped that they would have been properly addressed by now. Good to hear that the dangerous steps in the theatre have been lit. It would have been impossible to address the other design/structural issues in the theatre during a short refurb. Hopefully the theatre auditorium, especially the balcony, will be improved on Splendor.

Hopefully the theatre auditorium, especially the balcony, will be improved on Splendor. We have had many rough days and nights, with ports canceled and the schedule revamped. The closet door slams back and forth unless you wedge something under it. Several people have mentioned their shower doors are slamming back an forth. We have not had that issue. Our toilet completely quit functioning ( not a clog issue) and had to be removed and new parts put in both in the bath and outside. It took several hours, but we were out most of the time.
