NCL Getaway priority check-in, what about boarding?

We have sailed different cruise lines the past few years, and I can't recall if NCL assigns a boarding "window".  We are Bronze Latitudes members (woo hoo!), just one night away from Silver status, so we do get priority check-in.  I am wondering if this will be a difference as to when we actually get to board or if this just puts us in a shorter check-in line.  TIA

Here is my understanding based on reading many reviews and our limited experience:

  • Physically challenged;
  • Haven;
  • Ambassador, Platinum Plus, Platinum;
  • Casino At Sea (CAS);
  • The newly-offered, paid Priority Access package;
  • Everyone else by group number based on when you check in.

If this is incorrect, could one of our resident experts please correct.

Sailing this Sunday with priority access will try to update.

Bronze is the lowest level. From my experience you get the same numbers they're handing out to regular people at the same time. And I've also seen the no-status line be shorter than the Bronze one (that's assuming they actually even have one that says Bronze - I usually only see Platinum and above).

At check in there will be a Latitudes Member line, a Platinum and above line, and a "Check In" line.  In my experience, we take the shortest line of the Latitudes and basic line, last two cruises the basic check in line was shorter.  All latitudes members not specifically outlined in GADave's post above get the group number card and await your number to be called to board.  Perfect time to chill and watch the throngs of peeps.

I boarded Joy in LA last week, using a CAS booking.   I'm only bronze but went in the CAS line.  I ended up group 15 so it didn't get me on any faster.

As far as getting off, Self-Assist went first, so I wheeled my own luggage and was off in the first 100 people, breezed through customs with no wait.  None of the luggage was even in the pickup area.

I will try to contain my excitement and just enjoy watching people until my group is called.  As far as disembarking, we booked the New Orleans past and present tour so we will get off the ship in a group to board the coach, our luggage will be loaded for us, and we will get a two hour tour of the area.  This will also serve as our transportation to the airport, so it should be pretty seamless getting off the ship.  Thanks for chiming in!

Below platinum, all that latitudes level gives you is priority check in, which is basically a separate line. At the lower levels, (in my experience anything below gold, and often below platinum) those queues are often as long as the general ones.

At those levels, it makes no difference to boarding times, as you are allocated a boarding group just the same as non latitudes members, Only platinum or above gives priority boarding based on latitudes level.
