Great news indeed. Frances/Poppy Northcutt was an Apollo era trailblazer who worked on mission planning for some of the most important space missions of all time, the first manned missions to the moon. As a fellow engineer and mathematician, she's been a hero of mine for a very long time.

Here's a Youtube video of an interview with Poppy Northcutt, talking about her responsibilities in Mission Control during Apollo 11. She also worked other missions as well, including trajectory work on Apollo 8. You can see why she stood out in a room of of guys with white short-sleeved shirts and pocket protectors ;o)
