2wheelin Posted December 12, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 12, 2019 We will ask ship crew but does anyone have knowledge of places in port which have WiFi free or with a small purchase? Is it available from the ship when docked?
Rare crewsweeper Posted December 12, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 12, 2019 Which ship are you on? Which port on Roatan? Unless it's changed, you can access WiFi at one of the restaurants on the beach at Mahogany Bay with food and drink purchase. Waitstaff will give you the password. Or maybe some "generous" fellow cruiser will tell you for "free". Not sure if the reno'ed Port at Coxen Hole includes wifi, but it used to be available at Fonsie's just outside the cruise port. There are some newer restaurants near the port and they may have it. There are places on the West End and West Bay that have wifi for free if you buy food or drink. ABQrobin Posted December 13, 2019 #4 Share Posted December 13, 2019 As I recall, there is wifi at the port, not sure how good. But do remember, once you take your phone off of "airplane mode" it will update to local time, which is probably different than local time. I’ll just be using wifi to check email and possibly message grandson (18th birthday) so always leave in airplane mode but thanks for the reminder to all. I even take a spare watch so I don’t get caught by my Fitbit accidentally getting updated.
