cruiseDH22 Posted December 25, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 25, 2019 We fly and cruise usually with 2 check-in suitcases in addition to our carry-ons. I am planning on getting these locks for the 2 check-ins: https://www.amazon.com/Forge-TSA-Lock-Pack-Indicator/dp/B01N7ILPEL I am relatively new to air travel and cruising. I don't notice if others commonly lock their suitcases. Is this choice of lock adequate?

waterbug123 Posted December 26, 2019 #4 Share Posted December 26, 2019 Luggage locks are somewhat pointless. A thief can get into any luggage/luggage lock in about 5 seconds if they really want to. I mean sure, it's better than nothing, but as you're restricted to TSA approved locks in the US, I'd say any TSA lock is as good as any other. thinfool Posted December 26, 2019 #5 Share Posted December 26, 2019 Zip ties here. Many are the reports of TSA or other handlers casually cutting off any lock if they don't have or have misplaced their key.
azcruiser64 Posted December 26, 2019 #6 Share Posted December 26, 2019 (edited) Another Zip Tie user. I had numerous TSA locks cut off or damaged before switching to Zip Ties. Since then I've made about 15 overseas trips and haven't had one cut yet. Just remember to pack a nail clipper or something in your carry on to cut the Zip Ties when you arrive at your destination.
