I'm not sure what else they'll be doing besides cleaning up the ship.

It is scheduled as a routine drydock with a few onboard changes.  That likely means that the hull and props will be serviced, hull repainted/coated, and necessary maintenance performed on various mechanical systems.   I just wonder how these schedules have been impacted by all the hurricane damage suffered on Grand Bahama Island.  We know that one of the main drydock facilities suffered lots of damage which has taken it out of service for some period of time.  Two weeks ago we were on MSC's new out island (Ocean Cay) and met a couple of workers who lived in Freeport.  They both had been laid off from their jobs at the large Freeport dry dock facility since it was undergoing repairs.  They counted themselves fortunate that MSC had some job openings at Ocean Cay (now open but undergoing further construction).

The dry dock facilities on Grand Bahama are very important to the cruise industry because it is very convenient to ships that spend a lot of time cruising out of Eastern USA ports.  Here is a link to an informative "Travel Weekly" story:

What changes?

Difficult to know since Princess does not publicize everything.  There is some talk about changes to the mid-ship and aft stairways but we do not know the details.  They will often use drydocks as an opportunity to replace lots of carpeting, upgrade bedding, etc.  Cruise ships also maintain a pretty long list of "deferred maintenance" items which are things that need repair or replacement but are simply ignored until the next dry dock.

It wasn't the hurricane that did this. It was the crane falling down on a RCCL ship that did this. Granted, the hurricane probably didn't help matters.

Yes. No hurricane.   That was a mess.

Caused Princess to wet dock theirs because the crane caused so much damage.

They could not use the DD for awhile.

Someone posted several weeks ago the Regal will be in the Bahamas for dry dock that week.  It was of interest to me since we board the Regal on the 19th so we'll be on the first sailing afterwards.  I hope they replace bedding since people have posted recently that our cabin still has the old mattress.  I assume they will be replacing carpet too, but haven't heard specifics.
