I just keep on cruising, two to three per year, mostly on Princess and Celebrity, and don't worry about it. The biggest Elite benefit to me is the free internet minutes, and that isn't worth losing lots of money in the casino for! I don't go to the Elite parties, I don't use on-board laundry, I don't want them sending "canapes" to my cabin to stink it up, …. Oh, I forgot, the free upgrade of the travel insurance is worth having, too. 3 hours ago, Thrak said: Our last cruise was our first as Elite. My wife sent out some laundry. One item she sent out was a pair of brown corduroy women's pants. What came back was a pair of bluejeans. The sizing label said 24" x 29" Skinny. Trust me, this is not my wife's size. 🙄 There was either a very small woman or a young girl on the ship. I wonder if she got my wife's pants and what she thought when she saw the size. It took several days to get the correct item back. She also sent out a dress to be "cleaned" - not washed. They didn't get the spot off the front. Not a good first experience with laundry service. I think we will most likely just stick with self-service laundry. Above is post #17 referenced in post #18 4 minutes ago, bemis12 said: What am I missing? This appears to be some randomness inserted in the wrong thread. No idea. Does that help?

No, it's just that the discussion drifted onto the advantages of Elite status.
Ombud Posted January 10, 2020 #28 Share Posted January 10, 2020 Let me get back to my earlier question: I do frequent the casino but have never gotten a perk from that. They just get extra revenue from me. I'm just wondering if those perks are any different from 'normal' elite perks: - internet minutes - upgraded insurance - preferential water shuttle / boarding / disembarkation lounge - free laundry - mini bar - early booking - extra OBC after reaching 21+ cruises What does the 'SUPER SECRET ELITE' level get? Tom😎 One of the larger cruise travel agents has TAs that are freelance. You pay ~$500 and you get training to sell cruises on-line and in their brick and mortar stores. One of the perks is taking the Princess Academy and when you pass the course. You get Elite status for every cruise you take as a TA. Note, once you stop being a TA, you immediately lose your status with Princess. My wife was a Cruise TA with this company for a couple of years, she did the training and was awarded Elite status. Alas for our first Princess cruise, she had left the TA and we were knocked back down to Blue, and are slowly climbing up. PS this TA companies owner also owns the parent company of Cruise Critic. Do not pay anybody to become a TA. A search of the intewebs will direct you to one orr more TA sites that will let you become an affiliate without cost. Without cost. I've noticed recently that when I go to the Princess site on my phone and search cruises, there is now a tab "Casino Deals". Not sure if everyone is getting this or if it's just because I make nightly donations to the cause when I'm cruising.
