Cruise port in Cozumel

International pier is not directly downtown in San Miguel.  We took a cab to San Miguel (6 of us), it was 8.00 US one way.  It may have taken 10-15 minutes to get there by cab.  There were restaurants and shopping across the street from International Pier and lots of shopping directly in the enclosed pier area.

There are three docking areas in Cozumel.  Puerto Maya is the most south, used by the Carnival family.  Next to it is the International Pier, used by the Royal family and sometimes others.  Downtown is Punta Langosta used by NCL, MSC, etc.  There are shopping areas at each with a plethora of shops.  The center at the International pier is very different from that of Puerto Maya, but you can walk from one to the other.  If you have that much stamina for shopping.  EM

How far is the walk from Puerto Mayo to downtown?

Its too far to walk, IMHO, especially when taxi fare is only $7 for 4 people.  There are sidewalks all the way there, sorta, meaning some are broken, all are uneven and some shade but not all shaded so very hot and humid all the way.  I love Cozumel and walking on the sidewalks long distances isn't fun to me.

About 3 miles each way to the center. There are side walks all the way and quite safe. We have walked most of the way at night but generally too hot  during the day when visiting by cruise ship.
