Rare Vineyard View Posted January 21, 2020 #5 Share Posted January 21, 2020 Maybe spirits, but my reading shows not so much with wine? Am I incorrect? It seems that it depends on your preference of drinks.
boze9999 Posted January 21, 2020 #6 Share Posted January 21, 2020 HAL has two Inclusive Beverage Packages. The SBP - Signature (most common) includes all alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks from the bars/restaurants up to $11.00 - This includes most "call" liquors and drinks most cruisers enjoy. The Elite - EBP - takes the "call" liquors and wines up a notch to more of the top shelf liquors and a broader selection of wines. We always get the Signature Beverage Package because we order the wine packages.
Rare Vineyard View Posted January 21, 2020 #7 Share Posted January 21, 2020 When in wine centric locals, we will pay the $18 corkage fee on wines we select and buy - before boarding and/or in ports. Wines offered by the glass on HAL under $15 are not impressive, at least to our liking. We would look at wine packages if we are not sailing in areas conducive to purchasing. We have the signature package on our upcoming itinerary, but we will supplement with corkage fees for brought on board wines.

TAD2005 Posted January 22, 2020 #11 Share Posted January 22, 2020 Either beverage package can be used anywhere on the ship where they have a point-of-sale (POS) terminal including the MDR. The package limits you to 15 alcoholic beverages per 24 hour day, but unlimited sodas in cans, bottles of water (500 ml) and all specialty coffees that do not contain alcohol. Specialty coffees that contain alcohol count as one of your daily 15. Both packages include the Quench non-alcoholic beverage package, which is why non-alcoholic beverages are unlimited. You can get doubles of any mixed drink, such as a double scotch neat. It just counts as 2 of your daily 15. The per drink price limits of $11 (SBP) and $15 (EBP) are menu prices. You do not have to worry about including the 15% service charge when you are checking to see if the drink is included. You can order an $11 drink with the SBP and it is covered. If you have the SBP and you order a $12 drink, you will pay $12 plus 15%, you cannot pay just the difference. All drinks are priced by the base alcohol that is in it. A Bloody Mary with loads of fruit and a big shrimp on a skewer will cost you the price of the vodka you request. However, you can get a Long Island Ice Tea that contains 5 different types of alcohol or a Wang Wang with 6 different types, and it is included in the basic package as one drink.
