Last minute price reductions

Hello

 

We are looking at a last minute cruise for Feb 17th, Enchantment  of the Seas out of Galveston.  Previously I heard RCCL sometimes reduces prices on unused cabins.   Any clue on when those prices may drop?

Price changes are not predictable.

Royal made an announcement a few years ago no more last minute reductions. I’m uncertain if this still holds true.

It hasn’t on the cruise I will be leaving on in 3 weeks. I would be saving $600aud if I were to purchase now the exact same category instead of 8 months ago when I did purchase. 🙁

If at all, sizable drops seem to happen further out, like 60 days.

I scored a great deal on an Anthem cruise about a month prior to sailing. It was a 7 day Caribbean out of NJ, and balcony cabins were going for 1200 for 2 adults (add 400 with 2 kids). I’m not sure how much it was before but I don’t think they were that cheap so it looks like it was a big price drop. I would say it’s possible but less likely than other lines (NCL is notorious for last minute price drops)
