Make sure you fill it from a glass.

Incorrect.

On RCI, and most restaurants, the corkage fee has nothing to do with opening the bottle.  It has to do with compensating for the loss in revenue when you bring, instead of buy, your wine.

So, it is charged, even if you open the bottle and bring it.

Just sailed the RC Symphony and we did bring our own opened bottle which and there was NO fee at all.

Sorry, but you are incorrect

Be sure to try and give correct answers when you post 😊

What line are you describing?

I get charged about 90% of the time on Cunard. I recognize the economics and the rationale so I'm not surprised or bothered by it.

Lately I've had issues spending my onboard credit, so I've resolved not to carry on wine next time.

Read the posts, I commented specifically about RCI.

The person answered about that post, so I assumed they were also talking about RCI.

If they were comparing apples to oranges, that is on THEM. 🙂

I can count the number of times in my life that we've drank a bottle of wine at dinner on one hand (and I can drink a lot). I generally don't like a lot with my meal. My bottle never leaves my room. The most I'll do is take a few sips in the room, top off, and bring a glass dinner.

This a great discussion and I'm learning a lot! Thanks for helping me understand!

15+ cruises on Royal and have been or seen anyone charged a corkage fee.  You can also leave your opened wine bottle on the table and the waiter will store it and it will be waiting for you the next night.

Yes, I was referring to RCL. Thanks! 🙂
