kkat10 Posted January 28, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2020 Hello, we are leaving on Feb 16th and will be on the Allure to St Marten, San Juan and then CoCo Cay----are the seas normally calm in this area and this time of year?

Desert Cruizers Posted January 28, 2020 #5 Share Posted January 28, 2020 I always check the extended weather forecast a week before I leave on any cruise or trip, but the seas are unpredictable. if no forcasted storms the seas should be relatively calm. mets123 Posted January 28, 2020 #6 Share Posted January 28, 2020 Weather happens. You just have to go with the flow.
The Grumpus Posted January 28, 2020 #7 Share Posted January 28, 2020 Allure handles most sea conditions better than most cruise ships, so you've got that going for you. And if seas are starting to get really rough during the day, just drink lots of liquor... that way you won't notice as much.

I’ve had good luck then 🙂. But, since I get seasick easily, I always do the earpatch. DH is fine without it

There were 10-15 ft waves and as much as 25 ft. Check out the link for current seas. frito58 Posted January 29, 2020 #11 Share Posted January 29, 2020 Fair question I normally never sail this time of year and have sailed over 30 times normally late spring or late fall always have had pretty good seas. But friends of ours were out last week said it was pretty rough had to skip a couple of stops on the western route . Not sure why he got some rude answers when he just asked a question . Thought that was the reason for this site . Just sayin .
