Transfer Celebrity to Royal?

We would like to transfer a December booking from Celebrity to Royal. Is this doable?

 

We booked on board about a year ago (Independence), I think that gives me refundable deposit/free transfer, but I'm not 100%.

 

Any advice is appreciated!

Nope. You'll need to cancel the Celebrity Cruise and book the Royal Caribbean cruise. When booking onboard you had the option to choose either refundable or non-refundable deposit. Check your invoice to verify.  Never heard of a free transfer.  What do you mean by a free transfer?

I asked this same question last week but from RCCL to Celebrity and was told no I could not.

They are separate lines owned by the same parent RCCL.
Only status match is allowed, but bookings cannot be transferred between the two

You can BOOK either line on board the other, but that's about the whole of it.

Both lines are run separately, with separate accounting practices and hence do not allow transfer of Cruises between them

Ditto, me too.  Got my cash back.

Its not a problem. you can take your cash back from one, and make a fresh booking on the other
