How do you get a price drop before final payment?

I've never tried to get a price drop before, but, we have a July cruise out of Mobile on the Fantasy.  Purchased online Early saver for $1159, now the price for the same cruise is $783.28.  Final payment is not scheduled until April 23.  Any chance I can get a reduced final payment?  Thanks for any info.

It's always worth a try. We have a cruise coming up in Sept.(which was paid  in full in Jan.) and wife noticed a price drop. She called and got the price reduction in the form of OBC. $240.00.  I'd say go for it and call them.

Of course you can. Just call. In fact, since you purchased Early Saver, you can get price drops up to 2 days before sailing. However, if those drops come after final payment, you will get as OBC.

This is my belief too.  Phone Carnival and do mock bookings often.  Prices are fluctuating often.

As long as you are looking at the same category as you booked you will get the price reduction. Call Carnival. I got a small reduction yesterday.

We are scheduled to cruise for 3 of us in a balcony cabin for a 7 day cruise to Mexico.  Original booking was $3,386.56.  Price drop brought our total down to $1,787.92.  Since I had already paid $1,886.56, we now have our cruise paid off and have some on board credit.

Never knew you could get an OBC if price drops after final payment is made.  Thx for this info    I've watched prices after bookings but stopped after they were paid off.

Does that apply only to the Early Saver rate or all rates?

We've got one booked for January, but no price drops for us. 😔 Ours has gone up about $130. Carnival's dropping prices to all these cruises to attract people back, but it looks like January is just out side that window of opportunity. The bright side is, we did catch it during one of their big sales last month, so got it for a pretty good rate.

You can always use this form

https://www.carnival.com/core/requestforms/priceprotection.aspx

I usually get a response withing 20 minutes

I usually get a response within 5-10 minutes after using the form, but I will say this. If you use the form and get denied, don't give up...call them. You can't always trust that system. I used it one time last year and it came back denied. I knew it was a legit claim, so I emailed our PVP and within 45 minutes, our balance was adjusted.

What phone number do you use? I booked directly through Carnival.

Do you mean when doing a price match? We use our PVP, but you could call their regular 800 number and do it through a customer service rep. I've used the form many times and it worked just fine, but that one time I was referring to, I knew the reason they gave for denying it was wrong, so I contacted our PVP and got it approved. I've been denied using the form a time or two before then, but never questioned it. Who knows, maybe I could've gotten the match then too.

Yes, thank you. Is the OBC you get refundable or non?

I have a price drop on a booking that was thru the casino OWV ($200 OBC and DOU). Do you I need to call the casino line, or is there a form to adjust the booking? Been on the phone for over 2Hrs now. must have been alot of people calling in for price adjustments

almost on hold for 3 hours, but I made it! The Agent was very accommodating (ended up having to switch the room to get the same room at the new price). Looks like rate recently dropped for a lot of Cruises, best to check it out. I saved $100 on a 4 day cruise!
