smush21 Posted May 7, 2020 #1 Share Posted May 7, 2020 If Royal significantly change ports of call are you entitled to a refund? (if cruise is operating and you don't want to go with the new schedule?)
clarky213 Posted May 7, 2020 #2 Share Posted May 7, 2020 Read your contract. Not sure how they defy "significant". One port change is definately allowed (Happened to me once).
mjkacmom Posted May 7, 2020 #3 Share Posted May 7, 2020 I believe the contract allows them to sail around the ocean for less days or more days, you would be refunded port fees. They can change all of the ports. This allows them to completely change itineraries in case of bad weather (though you were going to Bermuda? Welcome to Canada.). twins_to_alaska Posted May 7, 2020 #4 Share Posted May 7, 2020 (edited) Not entitled but Royal might offer the chance of cancel/refund. I had cruise with two ports cancelled. One changed to different port and other became a sea day. That happened on board. It was disappointing but I still had a good time. Meant some nice folk the extra sea day while I was hanging out in shade near pool. Edited May 7, 2020 by twins_to_alaska
Rare pasodancer Posted May 7, 2020 #5 Share Posted May 7, 2020 Couple years ago thanks to whatever Hurricane, instead of a nice warm cruise to Bermuda we did a cold cruise to Canada. They changed the itinerary on day 1 of the cruise.

Rare pasodancer Posted May 7, 2020 #7 Share Posted May 7, 2020 No refunds, no extras perks. We spend our OBC for sweatshirts. Received refunds for RCI book excursions. I know our son was out the money he paid directly to a travel vendor for his diving excursion.

They do not always refund port fees. 😟
BND Posted May 7, 2020 #9 Share Posted May 7, 2020 Our May 15 NE/Canada cruise was changed to Bermuda before they cancelled May cruises and we were offered refund or FCC as a result, so yes, they can and they have.
