suekel Posted July 6, 2020 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2020 Thinking of doing the Luxury Car train tour out of Skagway. Anyone have experience with this and is it worth the extra $$ TIA
disneyochem Posted July 6, 2020 #2 Share Posted July 6, 2020 Hubby did it and thought it was worth the extra cost. He’s a big train fan so doesn’t mind paying more for a unique experience. It was also the only excursion that had the steam engine so it was a must for him. But, it is one and done for him. I (though I do enjoy train travel) opted for the sled dog visit, Carcross visit and lunch, and train ride to Skagway. Even with lunch, my experience was still cheaper...and included puppies! Glaciers Posted July 6, 2020 #3 Share Posted July 6, 2020 (edited) This is an old thread about the luxury cars on the train. It wouldn't be worth it for us as we feel everything about the trip is outside although do understand the appeal for some. Beautiful scenery. Budget Queen Posted July 6, 2020 #4 Share Posted July 6, 2020 The steam engine is the highlight, certainly very much a priority for any rail fan. 🙂
