How many years in advance can you usually book a cruise?

Really? I would think those that like to travel would maintain the same interest. If you want to go to Singapore and you book two years out, what are the odds your interest in Singapore wanes?

Plus, if the trip is pricey, you have that time to pay/save.

I’ve been known to change my mind when I book too far out. I’ll find a cruise that I like and book it, but then I keep checking to see what else is out there. I’ll get excited about another cruise, book it, and cancel the original one. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I do agree about having time to pay for more expensive cruises when booking far in advance though. When we did the Mediterranean a few years back, I booked a suite almost two years in advance. By the time final payment arrived, everything was paid in full, including flights and excursions. I’m doing the same for a Panama Canal Cruise in 2022 for which I’ve also booked a suite. I’ve already paid more than half of that one with a year and a half to go.

We've booked Alaska 2 years ahead. We usually book anywhere from 8 months to a year ahead, I think the least was 5 1/2  months. Now that I am close to retirement, I expect, once cruising is happening again, to be able to do more last-minute trips.

As mentioned, you just have to keep searching. Or if there is a cruise line you're particularly interested in, stalk their board here - someone generally posts when booking opens for each season. I'm normally a last-minute booker or a year out at most. But today I jumped on some stellar casino offers and booked an 18 day back-to-back out of Sydney, Australia in May 2022. I've never booked a cruise that far out, but I couldn't turn down the price and perks, AND I was able to nab an L-shaped balcony cabin for each leg.

For the Mediterranean I book just a few months before sailing. I was supposed to go on the Radiance sailing this year out of Barcelona, re-booked for next spring  (finger crossed) on the legend.

We cruised to Alaska on the Legend last year.  Lovely ship
