Yes it is.  I was actually a bit disappointed with this beach - it looks nicer from a distance than when you actually get there, but it was a nice walk.

I have booked a couple of nights on Fitzroy for middle of next year, so looked very familiar. Have been looking at the U-Tube videos. 

 

Do you know what this place is called and how you get there? If it hadn't been a rainy day I am sure it would have been busier.

Correct, they are called Buda Bars and are on the outsides of the city walls overlooking the ocean. You need to find the doorways to get through the wall to access them. On warm days folk jump in and swim. The 2nd photo was taken looking down from the Wall.

You got it. A lovely place. It was almost a ruin but has been rebuilt.

One of our tour group fell seriously ill the day we were there. He spent a couple of nights in hospital with very bad gastro. Doctors suspect it was botulism. We tried to figure out how he got it and suspect it was lunch at one of the nice cafes in town. When we worked out what we (8 of us) had eaten and he was the only one who had rice with his meal. No one else was sick. Must have been the rice.

Not Rice-a-riso but rice a heave ho.
