I'm sure she asked for small amount, just a little of each thing. However, the servers' definitions of small seemed to be larger than her definitions. I've asked a server that I wanted just a sliver of cheese cake and that is just what I got.

All I can go by is our experience on the HAL Maasdam when we sailed on her and they were serving at the buffet.

I thought for sure it would slow things down, but not at all. If service goes to that for buffets on Carnival, I think people will get accustomed to it by the end of their first sailing. If you stop and think about it, it does away with people picking through a whole tray of bacon, etc. looking for just the right piece. A server will just grab some pieces and plate it for you. The carving stations have always been that way.
stellarose Posted October 15, 2020 #30 Share Posted October 15, 2020 it might actually cut down on waste. I am trying to find positives of the new normal for cruising.

topaz123 Posted October 20, 2020 #33 Share Posted October 20, 2020 Hate to see the buffet go away...always interesting to see just how much food a person can pile on just one plate. Kinda feel sorry for the crew having to carry these 8 pound platters to just one person.

We were talking about going to Primm. How was it in Vegas and where did you stay? Vegas was pretty much business as usual. You can dine in with social distancing. You have to wear a mask in the casino and in the restaurant, taking it off only to eat or drink or smoke. Since my wife is a retired Hilton employee, we stay at Hilton properties. We like to go to South Point Casino to eat and gamble a little. On the way home we stopped at Primm to shop. While my wife was shopping I hit a 6 Spot Keno ticket.
