IRMO12HD Posted November 30, 2020 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2020 Just wanted to say thank you to Cruise Critic, Ben Bouldin, and Nick Weir for the outstanding presentation this morning. It was very informative, and I was really impressed with the format and amount of detail covered.
zalusky Posted November 30, 2020 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2020 So what did they say? Is there a summary posted somewhere?

They mentioned a link to be able to watch it after the fact. I don't see that so possibly it will be coming soon. It was very interesting. There is going to be a brand new, unique high tech show in 270 on Odyssey. They tested it in China but the actual roll-out will be when Odyssey starts sailing. They showed some clips and Nick Weir explained how it was done.

IRMO12HD Posted November 30, 2020 Author #7 Share Posted November 30, 2020 @Hogbay, the first part dealt with the background and a summary of the Healthy Sail Panel, and the steps that Royal is taking towards sailing again. Some info on the trial sailings, but not too many details; their focus is on training the crews and implementing the processes onboard the ships. Ben discussed the current sailings in Singapore. The second half dealt with using technology in future cruises. Nick Weir discussed and showed slides on Muster 2.0, and then described the technology behind some of the current and upcoming shows. My key takeaways: 1. The process for getting ships back in sailing mode has begun. Getting the crew back on the ships and getting them trained/checked on the new processes is going to take time. 2. There will be test sailings in the UK/Europe; it sounded like C&A will be a possible source of "volunteers' 3. Muster 2.0 is going to be really helpful. Interesting factoid: its patent was approved in early March 2020. The link that @sea2shiningseaposted appears to work.
