Will a Hotel Hold Luggage?

We will be in Sydney for several days before our cruise in 2022 (🤞🤞🤞).

We would like to do an overnight, using the train, to the Blue Mountains. Is it possible that any of the hotels would store our luggage for the day and night we would be gone? We would stay with them the other 3 or 4 nights. We've done this in Italy when we stayed in a B&B but I'm not sure that it is a normal service hotels offer.

I would prefer not to have to take all of our luggage with us for a one night trip.

Thanks for any input!

Some/many hotels will do this, especially the larger hotels that have the space.

You need to ask them.

It certainly helps if you are staying there. We've been able to have some hotels  hold our luggage when we haven't been staying there, but we haven't asked all that often about this particular situation.  Several times we've been at a hotel, left for a short time, and then returned to stay again.  If we didn't need "everything", we'd just take overnight bags.  We've never had that type of request refused.  Indeed, we've often found our bags waiting for us in our room upon our return.  (That could be a physically different room, of course, given that we actually checked out and then checked back in, so as not to pay for those intermediate nights.)

I doubt they'll be surprised by the request.  Most "hospitality" vendors try to be... hospitable 🙂

You could just about be certain they will, but email them and ask.

If not there’s a couple of places that store luggage.

Smart carte has a couple. Central station (which is where you will catch your train ) and circular quay .

That way you could stay somewhere different.

Thank you for the information on the storage facilities. We may want to stay in two different areas during our time in Sydney.

At central station. ,the bag storage is just near the place you will catch the Katoomba train.
Usually platform 5 or 6.

If you’re here for a few days it’s best to split your stay .
