Nashna Posted February 23, 2021 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2021 I wonder if anyone knows how MSC is handling onboard passenger safety drills on their sailings currently operating in Europe. The drills have always been my least favorite part of cruising. It would be wonderful if Covid forced changes to the drill proceedures.
shipgeeks Posted February 23, 2021 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2021 From what I have read on the "live from" posts, passengers watch a safety video in their cabins, enter a code at the end, and it's done.

Rare CruiseIreland Posted February 24, 2021 #4 Share Posted February 24, 2021 As I understand it, they have to go to the station, afrer atching the safety video, and have their cards scanned. Proves they have (a) watched the video and (b) know where the assembly station is.

Nashna Posted February 25, 2021 Author #6 Share Posted February 25, 2021 If you don't get the code to punch in until after the video, it would force passengers to watch. This makes so much more sense than the previous drill process. By the time the staff got to the third language, no one was paying attention. By watching a video, folks could listen without distranction.
