The likelihood of cruises out of the Port of Seattle for 2021 is zero. Not going to happen.

I am not a newbie to Alaska cancellations and I know it will probably go down the tubes but for gosh sakes, let a person dream.

We did not make final payment as our two (so far) canceled cruises are with the Casino promotion. We have paid "no-refundable" deposit along with port fees and taxes. In addition, on one of the cruises we paid to upgrade and add beverage package as part of our upfront payment. How much of that should we expect back in FCCs???  I do know that we canceled a later Casino cruise because it turned out our TA could come pretty close to the same price and he sure needs the business. I know we will lose the "non-refundable" deposit but how long should it take to see the rest of our upfront payment to be returned to our credit card?

Seems that the staff at Princess would disagree with your opinion. The likelihood may be low but not so low that Princess felt it was necessary to cancel the Seattle-based cruises ... yet.

I'm pretty sure they've got much more information than we do at this time.

I guess we'll see. I'm pretty sure that the political will for opening up cruises is pretty small right now in Washington state. I am pretty sure that there are no elected officials in Washington state on the staff of Princess Cruises.

So should I infer the basis of your opinion is that the problem is with Washington State banning cruises? I did a quick search and found no news articles regarding a ban from the state, rather many articles bemoaning the potential loss of the summer season.

There is at least 1 elected official in Alaska that is trying to do something to save the cruising and tourism industry.

Has anyone here gotten notification from Princess or their travel agent about NE/Canada cruise cancellations?

Based on yesterday’s Princess webinar they are currently working with government officials in an effort to preserve NE/Canada & Alaska roundtrip from Seattle cruises.

We have three cruises that fall under this press release but only one is actually listed as being canceled--That  being a 7 day coastal from Vancouver to LA. I actually got an email from Princess today with the cancellation notice.  What I find interesting is We are booked on a three day cruise from LA to Vancouver which was to have gotten us to Vancouver one day before the above canceled cruise and we are booked for a hotel in Vancouver for that one night. I cannot believe that they will not cancel the three day one as well??? Secondly, we have an Alaska cruise leaving from Seattle in June, with stop in BC and it has not been canceled either. Maybe Princess is still trying to figure out a way to get around Passenger Service Act or maybe make it a cruise to Ensenada??  The more I hear the less I know 🙂

We were doing the same thing (3 day to Vancouver, overnight Vancouver, and then 7 day from Vancouver).   We received an email saying the 3 day cruise to Vancouver was cancelled but have not received an email about the 7 day cruise.

I received the second email yesterday and it appears that Princess had listed the wrong cruise date on the list but this email confirmed the cancellation of both cruises which meant I had to go ahead and cancel the hotel as well.  Still some hope for our Alaska cruise leaving from Seattle 🙂

We are on the 3 day to Vancouver as well and was told the following by email:

We are automatically rebooking you to the same cruise or cruisetour in 2022. This requires no action from you or your travel advisor and has the added benefit of protecting your current fare and promotions for your 2022 cruise.

I find this strange as we have not paid our final deposit, nor is there any cruise in 2022 similar to the cruise that we are taking in 2021.....

Please let us know what they end up re-booking you to.

I received an email today from Princess stating that they have canceled my EZ Air reservations for my paid in full June 2021 sailing from Whittier. I signed into my Princess account and my June sailing is now gone.

A few weeks ago I booked a "just in case" sailing from Whittier on June, 4 2022 when cancelations looked like there were going to happen. I did this so I could have the room and location I wanted, not a room that was left over.  This 2022 Whittier booking is now paid with a sizable credit. While I have not received notification of this change, but the wheels are moving on rebooking 2021 cruises.
