Sunset Veranda on Millennium questions

Happy Saturday everyone! Today I found out that 7203 on the Millennium was available for all three legs of a cruise we have booked for January 2023, and for only $1000 more total for all three legs than the regular balcony we had booked - I jumped all over that!! We LOVE the aft view, and having that huge balcony that is mostly covered is perfect for my sensitive winter white Canadian complexion! LOL!

But I have a couple of questions...

1.  How many seats are there? I've seen a few pictures on a site that has multiple photos, but they're all from before the big refurb in 2019 - some have 2 loungers and 2 chairs, some have 4 chairs and two padded loungers, and some have 2 regular chairs and two longer type chair with ottomans... anyone know what it looks like these days?

2.  From that same photo site, that room is shown as C1 Concierge Class, but on my paperwork it shows SV (Sunset Veranda), and on the Celebrity site, it doesn't really show any kind of deck plan to definitively state what category it is. Is SV just a balcony type? I'm okay with that if that's the case... just curious is all.

Thanks 🙂

7203 is C1.  None of the aft facing cabins on the Millenium are classified as SV’s
we have been in the Aqua aft facing cabin on Deck 11 and had 2 chairs with ottomans, 1 lounger and a table.

They have recently quietly reclassified the aft C1's to SV.   At the same time they have reclassified about 15 C2 mid ship to C1 which makes no sense at all.  On Summit I know this plan started around the Summer 2022 season.   Check on the Celebrity site ship deck plans.  They have a pulldown on the upper right with the dates of the changes.

I thought that they would do this to extract even more $$ from these coveted rooms.  But in the sailings I have checked SV has been priced below C1.

Ahhh... thanks for the hint on looking at deck plans on their site - that showed the dates of the changes and explains why there's a discrepancy.  And yes, the jump to the SV from our previous 2A was much less than a jump to C1 would have been.. and a far better cabin in our opinion. 🙂

Was your stay in that room pre or post revolution? Do you recall what kind of furniture? As in was it the  white rubbery straps, or blue thick mesh type seats, or the more updated beigy coloured seating?

Yes these are my favorite cabins on the M class and about 20 sq ft larger  than the 2A.   I have not been in one since the revolution but there is no excuse for there not to be 2 loungers on the balcony, it's very large.

Post revolution.  Seating was brownish mesh.

I’ve been trying to find this out as well.

Looking at the refurbishment photos/videos of the Summit, there are 2 loungers and two chairs with a larger and smaller table. The seating is brownish with a mesh fabric.

I’ll be in one of these rooms in June so I will report back then.

Hopefully your cruise will still be a go.... looking a little dodgy at the moment... but if you do get on, hope you can take pics and come back and let us know how it was 🙂

Why do you think it is a little "dodgy at the moment"?

It's only 3 weeks away and it would appear that Celebrity and other cruiselines are still attempting to get all staff and crew vaccinated in time... It's a gamble, but one that I hope breaks your way 🙂

  • 2 weeks later...

I scored a SV for our Jan. 2023 cruise for less than $180 more than the C2 "Sweet 16" I had planned on booking... unfortunately the same cabin is considered a C1 for my August 2021 cruise from St. Maarten, and $1,400 more than my "Sweet 16".  Guess you can't win them all!!!  The Millennium crew received the jab (1 dose J&J) this week, so hopefully the St. Maarten sailing will go as planned... bummer about the RC Vision sailings from Bermuda that were just canceled today, hope that doesn't happen to us!

Come and join the rollcall for the Jan 2023 cruise 🙂  Maybe it will be just people in SV cabins! LOL!!

As promised. The balcony is beautiful. You will get both sun and shade. This is sunset veranda 8172.

Ok so I can’t get the pics to upload but I’ve got them for you. And a video. I’ll post when I can 😀

That's sad that they took the big table away.  We always enjoyed having our breakfast out there at a normal table height.

We stayed in room 7203 during our Japan / Hong Kong cruise in November - December 2019. I’ll try to post some photos, but we loved the room.

Very quiet and private. Huge verandah with two sun lounges, two chairs and two tables. The canvas canopy gave plenty of protection from the weather, but you could sit in the sun if you pulled the chairs forward.
This was our first cruise on an M class ship ( previously only on S class), but we found Millenium a beautiful ship in excellent condition.

Thank you!! Those are great pictures... and so glad to see they do indeed have 2 chairs as well as 2 loungers in that room... can hardly wait!!

We couldn’t fault the stateroom or location and the staff were exceptional. Interesting that these rooms now have a different classification. They were C1 on our cruise, albeit more expensive than other C1’s.

So glad we managed to take that trip to Japan, just before the world changed.
