Crown Princess tours in Panama

Only those that have booked ship tours will be allowed off the ship in Panama. This is not new because of covid. It has always been this way for partial transits like yours.

The ship enters the Agua Clara locks early in the morning, around 6am. It takes around two hours to transit the three locks into Gatun Lake. While in Gatun Lake those that have booked Princess tours are tendered to a local yacht club dock. After the tour your bus returns you to Cristobal to re-board the ship.

That kinda sucks. I was stationed there early 80s and would have loved to see my old stomping grounds.

Princess runs full transits with a full day at the port of Fuerte Amador for Panama City. Pre-covid you could explore on your own. Post covid, don't know.

We did the last PC full transit on the Pacific Princess just before Covid hit.  We did NOT port in Panama City...

Most, not all, itineraries for 2022 & 2023 have the Fuerte Amador port stop. They are the 15 day itineraries. There are some 14 day itineraries on the Island that do not make this port stop.
