The wearing of the mask is so minuscule in the scheme of things.

Most of the time you are not wearing it.

To give up cruising for a rule that really has little impact on enjoyment, well at least for me, its a worthwhile trade off.

This cruise is nothing short of spectacular.

Over the Moon.

We have just had an email from Silversea confirming that it is no longer compulsory to do the escorted shore excursions but that 1 free one per port is still included in the fare. We will now review our choices and maybe change one or more so we can self explore. 😁😎

Hello spins 🚢 love reading your posts & photos of your experience around the Greek islands...it looks absolutely amazing ( have done it several times)

It's not the wearing of masks that I'm choosing not to cruise this year as we in the UK have had to & still do wear masks in all indoor venue's & public transport!!😷 But it's the government statement & medical center that has advised that all unnecessary travel is a no go !!!! So cruising for us at this time is out of the question...also Greece & the islands are not on the list to visit without tests & isolate for 10 days on return!!!

Also the most important issue for me is as I have myeloma my insurance companies ( several I have approached) all say no cover at this time so it's for me anyway not just about covid it's any other issue that could arise for me or my husband needing to claim ..please believe me spins we would be on a cruise in a heartbeat 💓 but just not at this time ... Interested to know nationality break down ???

Happy cruise ☀️☀️🍹🍾👙

Still awaiting some kind person on the cruise to let us know the breakdown on the nationalities on board and also, who is the Captain, HD, etc. etc.?

I don't know the breakdown of nationalities on board. The Captain is Chavdar Georgiev. The hotel director is Stephen Crimes, CD is Vicki Van Tassel.

Don't need picture with Captain or the recognition.

Thanks for the info! Thought it was supposed to be Captain Zannello. Any change in top management expected for the July 8 voyage?

Very happy that Vicki is back after her trip to the far side…

Didn't realize that the certificate must be returned in order to redeem. And the laundry continues...🤣

We have never been asked to return the certificates to obtain free laundry,it has happened automatically  up to and including our last cruise in 2019 when we passed 850 days.Hope they don’t want the Certificates returning to prove loyalty milestones when Silversea records will provide all the info they need!!

No certificates are needed to prove loyalty.  Credits for free cruises are recorded in Silversea computer system. I contact my Silversea rep, and she instantly sees my eligibility.  As for laundry:  When I embark for any cruise there is a note in my suite reminding me I am eligible for free laundry (as if I would forget 🙂).

I am with you! What I don't understand is if everyone is vaccinated why masks ?

Because that is what the EU requires of cruise lines at this time.

I am not clear as to what you are referring to. I have been sailing Silversea since the 1990s, and I cannot recall an early embarkation loyalty perk.  Most paperwork shows boarding beginning at 2 PM, but in most ports it has in practice begun at noon.  This is not a loyalty perk: anyone who shows up between noon and the published embarkation time is free to board.

Because of a bad foot, I requested an 11 AM embarkation a couple of years ago.  I was joined at that time with two elderly couples for whom this was their very first Silversea cruise,

It is the case that some years ago the cruise line offered late disembarkation and early embarkation for a charge.  This experiment did not last long.
