Reykjavik hotels

Recommended Posts

Also, if you are interested in spending some of those four days touring outside Reykjavik, it might be a good idea to look for accomodation also elsewhere, that way you could head further away from Reykjavik without spending significant part of the day on road.

how are you defining 'best"?  Most luxurious?  Best located (and for what)?  Most like something else?

Do you have a budget?

Primarily interested in a good location for setting up touring.

And price not an issue but want something that gives us good value.

I love the Reykjavik Residence Hotel.  IMO, though, I'd consider a multiday tour that gets you out of Reykjavik.  Otherwise, you will spend a lot of time in the car boomeranging back and forth from the city.  If you aren't already seeing Jokulsarlon, you can do an overnight trip there.  If you are, consider a trip to Snaefelsness or into the highlands instead.

Any hotel in this area is a good location for setting up touring

And places not far from there will work, too, as most tours have pickups in multiple locations in the city

Thank you.  We were looking at both of those hotels and others in that area.

We enjoyed the Black Pearl hotel serviced apartments. Great location and short-stay one-bedroom apartments permitted us to either make breakfast or bring back BF items from local bakery and grocery store. Black Pearl also offers continental breakfast delivered to your room. Note an order for one was fine for two people.

Any thoughts on this one:

https://centerhotels-hotel-plaza.direct-reservation.net/en/accommodation

I just reserved it for 3-night pre-cruise stay next August for €157.50 per night including breakfast...

Considered the Alda (a bit more expensive for a smaller room) and the Hilton Canopy (not yet showing price for next August yet) and a few others.  This one looked to get good reviews and location  looks good (I've been to Reykjavik twice before but never paid attention to hotels and locations).

The reservation is fully cancelable until 72 hours prior, so, at worst, it's a place holder...
