Docbizarro Posted July 7, 2021 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2021 Could anyone explain how Deal or No Deal works on the cruise? From what I understand it replaces Bingo. I can't imagine everyone who buys a "card" gets to play the actual Deal or No Deal game like the gameshow? So what's the scoop with this?
AndyCapn Posted July 7, 2021 #2 Share Posted July 7, 2021 You are correct. Only one player gets to play on stage at a time, and each session has two games. Contestants are randomly selected by computer from everyone who buys card. They play the game with 20 cases ranging from one cent to $1000 (Although I think the top amount changes with every game, based on the number of cards sold.) Everyone else plays along by opening the matching case on their own card. If their case contains the same amount as the case on the screen, it's a match. Get 10 matches, win $5,000. I think you win with as few as 3 matches (on NCL the low prize was a discount at the photo shop).
DenvCruiser Posted July 7, 2021 #3 Share Posted July 7, 2021 I was on the Edge June 26 and played one game. I matched two (or three) numbers on the first game and won $5 and matched 5 on the second and won $200! The money won is casino credit, not cash. I had fun on the roulette table and took home some of it. The cost was $20 for one card and $40 for 3 cards to play 2 games. If you buy before you board, you get a discount. I will play again next cruise. I never play bingo, but this was fun.
KonaPoodle Posted July 28, 2021 #4 Share Posted July 28, 2021 Does anyone know how often and which days "Deal or No Deal" would be on the itinerary? I'm considering pre-purchasing the 3 cards for $32 in the cruise planner, but don't want to miss it. Sailing on Edge on 8/7.

breadandbutter Posted October 14, 2021 #8 Share Posted October 14, 2021 I apologize that this isn't related to deal or no deal, but even though i can post as a comment, I can't post a new topic, I enter a title and the body text, hit submit, it looks like it's doing something, then the same screen pops up saying title and text are needed.Has anyone else have this issue, or can you point me in the right direction to get this figured out? Many Thanks
goodoldan Posted January 21, 2023 #9 Share Posted January 21, 2023 (edited) There's also a "grand finale" "Deal or No Deal" session near the end of the cruise in which players (selected from all players earlier in the cruise) attempt to find a $5000 Grand Prize suitcase. There's also one suitcase that contains an "X", which wins the person who selects that a "free cruise" on Celebrity. On a trip last year, I happened to be one of the people selected to open a suitcase during that last game and picked the "X" suitcase, winning the "free cruise". 😉 Edited January 21, 2023 by goodoldan 1

SHA0514 Posted January 29, 2023 #12 Share Posted January 29, 2023 Is there DEAL OR NO DEAL on Celeberty Exquinox ship? And how do you purchase the cards in advance. We are cruising in July 2023. TIA
gem lady Posted January 29, 2023 #13 Share Posted January 29, 2023 I bought some in advance for our Equinox trip in June. Have no idea how to play, but guess we will learn!

miched Posted January 29, 2023 #15 Share Posted January 29, 2023 During one session on the Apex the same person was randomly picked for both games and also to do the spin at the end to win a cruise. She won a cruise. The cruise didn’t amount to much. They didn’t say what it was but she told me that it was a 3 day cruise in an inside cabin during the hurricane season in the Caribbean. Here is a little tip. You don’t really have to keep track or worry about missing one of the matching amounts. If you take the cards to the casino cashier they will check it for you by scanning barcode on the cards. It is worth doing just to be sure that the card isn’t a loser. The lower values are in casino play. The higher amounts are cash. We won $400 and it was cash. There is also a perk for Elite Plus. If you pay for 3 you get 4 cards. There may be something similar for other CC levels. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

On our Edge holiday cruise, they did an electronic bingo on your phone before Deal or No Deal. It cost $5 and used the same app platform as the trivia.

The casino (Blue Chip host) said they would reach out to him “within a few days” to arrange for the free cruise. It’s been 2+ weeks and he hasn’t heard from them. Barefoot Gypsy Posted December 14, 2023 #18 Share Posted December 14, 2023 Hello...I just bought 3 Deal or no Deal tickets on the Planner online. We're on Apex March 3,2024. Question: On game day/night, do we checked in somewhere for them to enter us for the game? Thanks!
kands6191 Posted December 15, 2023 #19 Share Posted December 15, 2023 I was on the 12/2 Summit 5 day and they played bingo twicw and Deal twice. The bingo paid out 3 games each time, between $400 and $800 cash. I think it is based on the sales. We also got a raffle ticket that was drawn in the casino and several of us won a prize. I got $5 free play and a dice key chain. I know there was a higher prize. For Deal we bought cards in the Cruise Planner prior for one game. Then you have to pick them up in the casino during designated card sale hours prior to the game. I think it was about a 2 hour window. It was a very long line with two people working at the cashier. If you win something, or want to check your cards, you had to bring them back to the cashier beginning at 7 PM. Then they put the free play on your card for slots, or give you promo chips if you want. Last year on the Beyond my husband was called to play Deal. He won $125 and our cards won $60 in free play. Interesting to note that the $1000 was in case #7 for both games. At the end a third person got to spin the wheel for free play or a free cruise. He won the cruise and he was celebrating his 60th wedding anniversary so we were all happy for him.

You get the cards at the casino cashier. Everyone with a card is playing. When the game starts a card number will be generated to choose the contestant. If you aren’t the contestant you are still playing the game. They do this 2 times during the session and once again for someone to spin for a free cruise. Barefoot Gypsy Posted December 15, 2023 #21 Share Posted December 15, 2023 Hi Miched thank you for the reply. I already purchased the tickets online. I was assuming that a receipt of some type maybe even the tickets would be in my cabin when I arrive. Are you saying that we have to go down to the cashier in the casino to pick up the tickets on the day that we decide to play? Thanks again. Are you saying that we have to go down to the cashier in the casino to pick up the tickets on the day that we decide to play? Thanks again. When you go to the cashier they have your name and cabin number on a prepaid list. In Nov we waited in line 45 minutes to get our cards. They only had one cashier and I feel sorry for those that were playing in the casino and wanted to redeem their chips. After about 30 minutes another cashier was added but they only had one machine to register the cards. We got there about the time that they started to sell the cards. When we left the line was longer. It wasn’t a good system. If you do win and it is for casino play it is automatically added to your card. You don’t have to go to the cashier to redeem. This was on the Silhoutte, other ships may have a different and hopefully a better system. We purchased the cards at a discount before the cruise. We bought 3 thinking we would get the 4th one free as part of our CC perk. We were told that because the cards were discounted we didn’t get extra card. You need to figure out the math if you get a free card. We paid $24 for the 3 cards. It would have been $39.99 for 3 to get the 4th free card. DingoMom Posted February 11 #25 Share Posted February 11 @hmcrn, as long as there are sea days, they would play the game twice in a 10-night cruise!
