Rare IntrepidFromDC Posted July 10, 2021 #5 Share Posted July 10, 2021 Was Horizon supposed to take off at 4pm? She's still docked from looking at the webcam. You're not misbehaving are you?

You're not misbehaving are you? Still sitting at the dock. Maybe some late arrivals. Doesn't seem like many people on the ship at all. We'll see over time if it changes. Masks required in all the ports indoors or on transportation including tours. In La Romana and Amber Cove masks also required outdoors unless eating, drinking, or in the water. 3
Rare BlerkOne Posted July 10, 2021 Author #7 Share Posted July 10, 2021 No casino bar didn't seem to stop people from loitering and smoking in the area, even though the casino was closed. 1 1

In the utv? hiking up the mountain? Might be skipping my favorite excursion and staying on the boat!

I was partaking of the drinks on us in the casino. Would have been cheaper for me to walk away when I had almost doubled my money and then paid for drinks, but where's the fun in that? 4

Last sept when I booked for this sept I was thinking ok the kiddos will be back in school. Of course never dreaming a year later things wouldnt be much better. Now I wish I was going NOW. I dont usually book in summer except alaska of course .. almost hard to see everyone going off cruising. I thought I'd have already cruised by now. I have my fingers crossed everything continues to go great.

Or was it still chaotic getting into the terminal?

Or was it still chaotic getting into the terminal? I think likely all the people who arrive early gum things up. I selected 12-12:30 boarding. We arrived at the cruise port right at noon and were on the ship by 12:20. Actually the smoothest embarkation in scores of Carnival cruises, even without priority and despite being Miami. There were two queues set up - the second was for early arrivals and I didn't notice anyone standing there. You would have to ask someone who arrived early what their process was. There was a short line outside of the building that moved continuously. Security went smoothly. I had a bottle of wine in one carry on and they didn't bat an eye or inspect. The signs said to remove cameras and laptops from bags, but they stopped me and said don't bother. On a side note, for the flight to FLL, I had a rum miniature in one carry-on that I didn't notice and it zipped right through TSA. I didn't want to chance Carnival security missing, so I had a nightcap at the hotel. So I guess it is like dining - if you pick a time few other people choose, there is no waiting. Do you feel lucky? Back to the casino, I was mostly near the cashier and it is a non-smoking area. I didn't find it smokey or stinky at all. A pleasant experience and a lucky one. A server to my drink order relatively quickly, but returning with drinks seem to take a bit longer. 1
