Royal Up Bids.

Recommended Posts

We are currently in a Spa Junior Suite J4 and have just received the Royal Up bid email.

Would any of you lovely folk be willing to share the prices that you were successful with your upgrades? Ideally we would love to go to a loft suite but I really have no idea what to bid to stand a good chance.

Thanks!

Have done so but can’t seem to find exact amounts.  I’m obviously doing something wrong here.

Additional question….if my bid to Star Class is accepted how late can I cancel my drinks and dining packages?

All the way till you are on board, but then it will be for OBC, not a refund. The planner usually closes 3 days out.

Thank you! I’m ok with OBC as I will visit the spa a couple of times during the week I would think. So once the planner has closed, the only option will be OBC?

Can you receive a Royal Bid Upgrade acceptance right up until boarding also?

Yes

the concierge can also cancel your packages on board in that case.  It is also refundable OBC which means if its not spent it will get refunded to your card the last day

So, if someone buys the beverage package, dining package and voom for a little over $1,000 per person and they bid $1,000 pp for Star Class, Royal wouldn't make any additional money if that person won the bid and canceled their packages? But if someone else that didn't buy the packages offered that amount Royal could make money off both cabins if that person won the bid. Is that correct?

Pricing we’d be willing to bid depends entirely on the delta between the price you paid for your JS and the price of the suite you want to bid for had you booked it the day you booked the JS. We always note the price (do a dummy booking) of potential suite upgrades when we book. For example we have a CLS for our August Allure cruise and the next level upgrade would cost twice as much today as it listed for when we originally booked. I would bid up to the original listed price, but never more than that.

Nope

I'm surprised that Royal would miss that, especially in these crazy days! Honestly, it's hard for me to bid enough to cover all those benefits when I get more than I need being D+. I would rather have fun with that money in other places.

Being Prime I get free cruises (or $ off) and free drinks in the Casino, plus 5 drinks anytime now for being D+.
