Royal Class/Discovery

I've only been on the Regal and now I'm looking at a cruise for next year on the Discovery. Just wondering if there are any changes in this class since the Royal/Regal were built?

One of the major problems with the early Royal Class ships was the absence of a central staircase.  Later ships did convert an employee's staircase for one use by the general public.  I think that the Discovery does have a purpose built staircase.  I also believe that they added a pool.

Princess has corrected most of the fixable errors made on the first two builds.

Center Staircase

Princess live now more club like

Vista lounge more like Club Fusion

Side aisles in the theater

Crooner's, eliminated on the Sky, returns.

Club 6 improved , now a music lounge similar to Crooner's

Extra extended balcony cabins, deck 9, maybe some other decks.

Retreat pool area now smaller with cabins on both sides

Two special high end Sky Suites added

You can compare the deck plans on the Princess site. You can also review a video of the Sky Princess which is almost the same as the Discovery, except the Sky lacks Crooner's. Crooner's returned to the Enchanted and Discovery.

Also added La Mer & Salty Dog Gastro Pub. Gastro pub is where Vines was located.

Opposite of a fixable error.

 

It was right in the first place with larger area and views of the ocean.
