Casino free drink question

When we had this a while back on the Dream we ordered while playing slots, table games from the waitstaff. I recall being able to walk up to the bar and get a drink as well.

Carnival removed the casino bars on some of the ships so I don’t know if this is still an option.

It may be ship dependent but I could not just walk up to the casino bar on either the Glory or Valor I had to be be actively playing in order to get free drinks.

You cannot walk up to the casino bar and get a drink.  Depending on the ship and casino servers, if you are in the area of the slots, tables, they will bring you a drink.  They aren't watching to see if you are actively putting money out.  If you have DOU anywhere, you can go to any bar onboard.

Thank you. I believe the Magic still has the casino bar. It does say “while playing” so I was just wondering how much of sticklers they were on that.

If you tip well, the waiters will find you the moment you set foot in the casino.

In the past you had to be at a slot or table to order a DOU drink.  It is probably true now, also.  There have been times when the casino was busy, that I went to the casino bar and bought my own drink.  It seemed cheaper to me to do that then spend $100 at a tight slot in order to get a free drink.  If you play table games, you can request a server and get better service.  With so many casino offers at startup, I expect to be buying my own drinks at times and probably saving money in the long run.

The JACKPOT! Casino deals include drinks everywhere on the Ship. Looking forward to my 4 cruises I have booked.

My Jackpot offers do NOT have DOU everywhere.  Casino offers vary, even when they call them the same thing.

I've never been able to get a drink from the casino bar using my DOU.  Have to be playing.  Yes, sometimes if you're standing and watching and a server comes to a table, they'll take your order.  But then, you have to stand and wait (sometimes for a while) until they return.  If you're playing, at least you can sit and wait!

I have always hated how the 'free" drinks work at the casino so was excited to get that offer as well.

With certain ships removing the actual bars at the casino and hearing about how long it's taking for drink orders in general, I am happy that the drinks everywhere gives a bit more options.

Tom

If that was the smoking side on Carnival you wouldn't be able to get near them! LOL

That's not an anti smoking comment, just saying is all.
