While on the Nieuw Amsterdam two weeks ago a woman hit the jackpot on a slot machine near me for over $3000.  First time I ever saw someone hit for that much when I was actually there.   🤑

I definitely should have played slots on that cruise instead of craps.  One of the nights they had 3k, 5k, and 10k winners within a 1 hr span.  There were numerous hits over $1200 all week long. Was actually pretty crazy considering how small the casino is on the NA.

Over the years I have had a number of Royal Flushes on video poker for $1,000 or more. I have also won slot jackpots, including $1,500 on a slot on the Veendam last year and $1,360 I won last week on a Carnival cruise. There were a number of jackpot winners announced last week on that cruise, highest I heard was $5,000. Mostly, I win $100-400 on many slot bonus rounds, but not jackpots. And no, I do not play the maximum amount. I play in ship casinos most of the time they are open - that's how I receive such great casino cruise rates and casino cash/Fun Play.

Yes once on crystal i walked into the casino early in the day with very few people around.  As I neared a black jack table with no players I saw a $100 chip lying on the floor.  I picked it up and showed the dealer what I had found....congratulations it's your day to be a winner he said.  I took it to the cash cage and got a crispy $100 bill and left a winner.

Wife played the penny machine with a minimum of $.88/pull. Won $816. Envious, I went to the same machine and also won $816. We only play to hear the noise and see the graphics but these wins allowed us to buy some stuff in the ship's store that we normally wouldn't buy. We also got to lay out 16 one hundred dollar bills and laugh about the whole experience.

We were offered drinks but we bought the Have It All so it was not important. We're four star and have three more coming up with one being 42 days and one 30 days. Love HAL.

First prize in the Spin and Sail Slot Tournament on the N. Statendam in December 2023 was $100k.  I placed 15th for $1,700.  We had lots of fun.

Also witnessed a $15k win on Buffalo while on the British Isles cruise in August 2023 on the N. Statendam.

On the Voyage of the Vikings Cruise last summer (2023) my wife won a big jackpot on the sea day before we arrived in Rotterdam.  After having lunch she decided to go to the casino, but I decided to save my money for the evening and returned to our cabin.  A little while later she texted me to get her ID and bring it to the casino.  I figured that meant she had won a jackpot and when I found her it looked like she had won $816 and I wondered why she needed her ID for that, but on closer examination I saw she had won $8160, I was shocked to say the least!  The amazing thing was that after she had gotten paid, she decided to play a little more won an additional $1120 on another machine.  It was by far the most we had ever won in a ship's casino.

I've been lucky to have 3 cruises paid for completely onboard.   Not exactly "big" by any means; but huge at the time to me:

Carnival Elation   $600 jackpot with 4 Aces single line video poker  (3 night cruise)

Veendam   $2,000 cover all Bingo (4 night cruise)

Vision of the Seas  $1,000 on Ultimate Poker 5 cents. (4 night cruise)

David

P.S.  I did see a grand celebration on where the guest was presented a check over $300,000 but I suppose that was one of the lottery type wins

So to be clear did u take the $$ and run ending up with free cruise?  Or did you like most plow it back into the casino?

Lots of people talk about winning a jackpot in vegas...then they confess that oh but i lost it all back plus more at the blackjack table....amazing how people remember the wins and forget the losses.  Hope u took the $$ and ran.  The one absolute fact re casino is if you play long enough you will lose.

Years ago, sometime back in the 1990’s, on an Alaska cruise, the Misses stood next to the CEO of Holland America, A K Lanterman and saw him win $4,000 on the dollar video poker machine hitting a royal flush. I guess you can say it was on in the family!
