Celebrity Excursions

Does anyone know if the drivers/guides on Celebrity approved excursions will be masked?  I have been thinking of the safety of excursions.  I will mask in a van/bus, but wondering if it was required of the drivers.  Thanks

Uh, Celebrity doesn't actually do the excursions. They contract out to local companies. Rules will depend on the port.  What parts will you be visiting? What are the local restrictions?

I believe that those contractual agreements with local companies now include health and safety protocols established by Celebrity in concert with the local port.

I'm sure you're  correct. But protocols vary from place to place, and X sails to a lot of places. One would certainly hope that all contractors would be in full compliance.

We are currently on Equinox in the Caribbean. Every single port of call has only allowed vaccinated passengers to go ashore (except for unvaccinated children traveling with their parents who must take ship sponsored tours). Every tour guide, bus driver, vendor, and restaurant worker we have seen is wearing a mask.

These ports included St. Croix, Antigua, Dominica, St. Lucia, and we will find out in the next two days about Aruba and Curaçao. I imagine it will be much the same.

All if this could change by the time your cruise sets sail, but for now, this it what we experienced.

Equinox passenger.  Can you please tell me the percentage of the capacity? Or number of passengers.

I cancelled this same cruise as was very concerned due to Covid in Fl and lack of mandatory vaccinations.   that may have changed now.  HaS ir?

Celebrity  will not tell you ship % of capacity.
I then booked the Celebrity Summit out of St.Maarten.
It had 385 passengers but can take 2,200. Actually very sad. I think if they tell the passengers the % they will have more people. It was only 20% of capacity.   But I believe they set it at 50% max.

Trip was great. abs to answer previous persons questions. All precautions are taken by their cruise contractors.  I was very safe.

Please please start cruising!  I believe it is the safest place to be now.

I was told we are sailing with just under 1300 passengers, or approximately 40% capacity. It is not crowded at all with the exception of the occasional time in the casino, but on the S-class ships, the casino is easily avoided.

Yes, all of the drivers/guides that were on the excursions we booked through Celebrity so far on our current Caribbean B2B2B cruise wore masks. They also sprayed hand sanitizer on your hands (most of the time) before you were allowed back on the bus.

This is exactly what I wanted to hear.  We usually do our own excursions, but if the Celebrity ones contract with vendors who must follow safety protocols, then we will be doing Celebrity excursions this time around.

Thank you.  I was just on Celebrity as I cancelled Equinox.  We had 385 out of 2,200 capacity.   So 40% is good for your ship.  Is the food great.  Ours was ok.  Not up to expectations for food in dining room but rest of the cruise great.  Thanks.
