Thanks. the last time I did a test with $10 in the casino & it was not allowed. I ended up having $10 non refundable OBC that i left for the tip pool. Maybe I;ll try again this next time.

I never leave alot of money to "chance" on this, like you $10-20 just to test the system.  It seems to vary by ship.

Typically OBC provided by HAL cannot be used in the Casino, while OBC obtained via purchase or an outside party (i.e. TA) is treated as cash and can be used for anything. The non-HAL provided OBC should also be refundable.

I think the OBC you "get" (usually $200 pp) when on a casino offer can be used in the casino.  Best to check for certain once you board though.

Holland America sponsors the Susan B Komen On Deck for the Cure walk.

If I'm not mistaken HAL is no longer associated with the Susan B Komen Foundation. It is now a more generic walk that supports several cancer related charities.

I just leave our OBC in the shipboard account and after all is said and done the OBC is deducted from my charges at the end of the cruise which includes gratuities. Simple as pie.

Yes simple as pie, but not always.  I have had some OBC charges rejected on some ships - mostly casino charges.  As usual for HAL, your experience may vary!

I'm planning on putting a gift card on my account so I'm sure that will be able to be used in the casino.

Anyone have experience with B-B-B and onboard accounts?  Pre-Covid the account was rolled over each week (HAL did not ask that you settle the account at the end of each week) but it just kept on going, no new account started. This is being done the same now?

Also, for couples:  does anyone use two separate accounts?  We are always asked if we want both of us under one account or two separate accounts? Advantage/disadvantage?

Yes that will

Thanks. I am probably going to use my $750 one but only gamble tinylamount because I'm a little irritated with them on how they handled promos. I have a good one but the sale that just ended would have given me free internet which I don't have (& may need). First rep told me I could change in cancellation period, then when I called back to make change I was told no - even though I asked them to direct me to where it says not for new booking only. Supervisor only said "thank you for pointing that out- I will bring it up to my superiors".

I guess it's simple for me as I don't charge in the Casino but as you stated, things can vary.
