Any Upgrade Bids Accepted Recently?

I have an upgrade option for Deluxe Owners Suite with Large Balcony that I received 3 days ago. When I lookup what normal price is for that room on our sailing, it shows to be sold out. I would think sold out rooms wouldn’t be an option for you to bid on. I guess they would hold the bids in the event someone currently booked cancels?

Sometime around final payment for cruises with a 60 day FP date.  Once everything goes back to pre-covid timelines, only time will tell.  FP for my mid April cruise is later this week but I've already gotten bid offers after they got my payment.

Thanks. I will wait a little longer.

On the lower end of the scale, we just got upgraded (today) from IB to BA 🙂

Bliss sailing leaving this Sunday.

$70 pp. (which was 1 or 2 ticks above absolute minimum)

Generally the difference ranges from $150 to $500 pp to go from Inside to Balcony.

Very pleased 🙂

so  I had posted yesterday about having an interior room and I bid $100 pp to upgrade to a Balcony. Someone here said I could call and ask to upgrade and it worked ! I ended up upgrading from an Interior to a Balcony for $156 total !!

Any possibility of getting an upgrade bid from Balcony to Suite?? 🙂 I did ask while I had then on the phone but it was a $600 difference.

Hoping we got our Haven Aft-Facing Penthouse with Large Balcony (HB) for the 2/20 Encore sailing.  All other bids say expired and that one still says pending.  Will be watching our charge card now to see if the fee hits it.

Got it!

The 2/20 sailing on the Epic the NCL website updated and said "Not eligible for Upgrade".  Checked the status of my bids and 2 of them are expired and the 2 bedroom Haven is listed as "processing".  Minimum was 800 and we had bid 850.  This morning I decided I would hate to miss out by $100 so I bumped it to 895.  Still well within the POOR range.

sjd_boston what was your bid and "probablilty" on the meter?

Probably to much, but we have been so limited for travel that we don't care.  We came from a balcony room.  We bid $1400 per person.  Not sure where it was on the meter.  Good news it that we are still under $4.5k for the cruise including airfare.  We had 3  different free (except for upgrade to balcony) casino at sea cruises cancel so our FFC covered most of it.

Following this topic and one of the tips helped.

I am in a Balcony (BA) and got the upgrade advantage email.  The minimum bid for a Non-Haven

Penthouse Suite (SC) on NCL Joy is $250pp.  Total $500.  Doesn't sound too bad if you win the minimum bid.

Somewhere here, someone suggested calling NCL and with the price drops, it might be better than

bidding.  Someone said they got their upgrade cabin for $50 less than the minimum bid on upgrade advantage.  So I called.  I got the SC for $50 extra. and not the $500 minimum bid from upgrade advantage.

My guess is the Upgrade advantage offers (which I heard was a third party), once sent, doesn't update on price drops so better check on the new rates.  You might do better than the bidding war.  In my case, it worked out.

Thanks for the tip CC'ers.

Hello everyone.  If you have gotten a Haven upgrade recently, congratulations.  If you have read my op-ed on the Haven, you know I am a Huge Haven fan.  So now I would like to ask some very pointed question.  I want to cruise on the Encore, Bliss or again on the Joy in late March through early April.  I want to cruise as a "single". Please consider that when or if you respond.

  1. Have you recently got a upgrade to the Haven as a single?
  2. What category did you originally choose prior to wining your bid?
  3. What was the ship you won your bid on?
  4. What Haven Suite did you win?
  5. What was your winning bid?

The information you provide will allow me to seriously consider cruising again very soon. It will give me a reasonable strategy and yes I know, no guarantees.

Cruise well everyone.

We just called NCL and upgraded to a balcony from an inside cabin for less than we had originally bid, so I do recommend checking if prices have dropped on your sailing! Prices remained the same for a Spa balcony, so I just lowered my bid to the minimum because my partner doesn't care for the thermal pass but I do haha

Hi, can someone tell me if the penthouse Suite balcony is in the Haven on the Escape and same for the Haven spa suite. It appears to me they are both access to Haven but not in the Haven. Thank you!

It truly depends on which you have.  HD, H9, HI are on deck 16 near the SPA, so NOT in the Haven "proper", but are still full HAVEN access!

I was looking at the H9 and the H1 for an upgrade bid but if potentially spending a lot more money was wondering if actually being in the Haven versus access was better. I’ve seen a few comments so I was just checking what my options were and how people felt about one or the other😊

I’m looking at the potential to upgrade from a balcony to the 2 BR Family Villa with a minimum bid of $400pp but I’m a single and feel like it’s out of place to take such a large cabin as a single.  Anyone done this?

I’m cruising on the 27th and there’s a discounted upgrade that says it’s good through the 24th.
