We did MIA, FLL for years.  I refuse to drive there anymore with the horrendous traffic and excessive parking costs.  PC is much better on my stress level.   At least now we have some choices in cruiselines at PC.

It would be nice if they gave us the Grand Suite in April when the Divina returns but I wont push my luck.

I don't know if they can stop you?

The contract is vague.

The word "similar" has me wondering.

As in Caribbean?

7 nights?

Any ship?

Also no time limit is mentioned.

No exclusions. So we could book a GS for Xmas week that's normally $10,000 per person that week.

I’m starting to wonder if this is the route to take. https://www.nbcmiami.com/consumer-form/

Not yet as they have not given you official notice.  I don't think anyone has official notice yet.

I am surprised with this looming they are accepting YC bids for the mid and late October sailings on Meraviglia. There was plenty of space in YC especially leaving the 23rd.

I also was apprised of something a little while ago.  Even though I am a FL resident, I am not living at my home right now so I need to fly in for the cruise. I called my insurance company today and was told that if the cruise sails, I am not covered. What???

I am to seek reimbursement from the cruise line.

As it stands I have 2 first class airline tickets to my home for a cruise that I am not going to be allowed to board. I was informed that if I tell me airline my trip was affected by covid, I will get an ecredit.

One SNAFU by a company and 100s of lives will be affected.  This is a good example of a Cluster F.   I am certain they have no clue yet how to resolve this.

My Linkedin friend is the MSC VP of Hotel Operations in the USA and he wont even respond to me.  GROWING pains I am sure.

This will cost them.   Don't forget, the Armonia is not coming so all of those get cancelled.

Are those Dodge Vipers in your pictures?   New sports cars are unobtainable now unless one is willing to pay huge addl markups.  Looking for a new Mach 1, impossible at sticker.  I ll wait a year.  And the GT500?  Forget it.

Yes I have 2. Both are silver 2016 and a 2004.

That's why. Lets what what happens today.  I am betting they won't even call me.

I agree I am doubting they call as well.  On the chance that they do my guess is that "the offer" would be you can change the date and pay the increased fare (with NO change fees...WOW smirk)and we will throw in 100 or 200 dollars OBC ( to which we are supposed to think "how kind")

I called yesterday wanting to just get out in front of it willing to pay the difference between this cruise and another cruise out of the same port.

Nope, they quoted me +$500 more than what I could book a new one for on the website....  Or a $900 cancellation fee.

Use the "up to 48 hours before" cancel option. Get FCC and book a new one with no cancellation fee.

That’s what I tried to do.  They would not let be get FCC.  Just book another cruise for what looked like brochure cost.  I need to go read the 48 hours before wording actually…

Can  I ask a different question (and this is part of my be prepared for anything strategy) -

Let's say this works out and we do take this cruise, have any of you see if MSC does transfers from MCO or have a favorite transfer service?

I am flying day of this time (spare me the lectures, I am already very nervous) so I don't want to do my normal process of renting a car one-way from MCO to Port Canaveral.

Called again this morning, since it was booked thru casino dept. I called the casino line.  Talked to agent and  conversation went like this:

Me...I need help with a cruise I have scheduled.

Agent.. what is the booking number

Me.. Told her the number

Agent... there does not appear to be a booking, what is number again?

Me..Repeated number again...(Same response..I can't find that booking number)

Agent... name and date of birth

Me...replied with name and date of birth

Agent...she says "oh I see it..10/24 on the Davina, Oh your are talking about THAT cruise". (always a bad sign)

Me..Mention the possibility of switching dates

Agent...yes we can do that.

Me..For the same price I have already paid?

Agent...No you would have to pay the difference.

ME..No I am not doing that

Agent...ok... Do you want me to refund your money?

My response..No I want to know how MSC plans to handle this...it was MSC's fault not mine.

Agent..They (MSC ) have said it effects very few people.  Would you like to speak with a manager?

My response.. Yes thank you

Was put on hold for a few minutes and she returned to say the manager is on another call, but he said they are expecting to call all customers today before end of day.  We will see about that.  I am not sure I put much stock into that happening.  One upside att least the agent was friendly.  Now I guess we wait.....

I am not letting go of this no matter what.  They have had my money for quite some time as I was on Meraviglia 10/23 sailing first before switch 2 weeks ago.

Follow the Terms and conditions part 15 section 2.

Lets stick to our guns!!

Still no call today.

I printed out the terms and conditions about 30 minutes ago.  I to do not plan on letting it drop. We were doing this a a back to back with our 10/17 Davina cruise with our family.  The airline tickets were bought with Frequent Flyer miles on Delta.  Checked Sunday on changing the return flight from 10/31 to 10/24.  Just to change the return flight will cost us an additional 60000 or more miles due to the lateness in changing the tickets.  Yes, Delta does let you redeposit miles for free, however the problem is that the flight back home has increased drastically resulting in the additional miles needed.  In addition the cost to increase the insurance was over $ 250.00 to go from 1 week to 2 weeks.  I could understand if this was a covid related cancellation or change but it is not...its totally a goof up on MSC's part.  A goof up that apparently started back in July when they changed the salsa cruise to the Davina but kept selling general reservations on the Davina up until late last week.

Still no call or email to me either.

Their screw up, they pay.   I won't take nothing less than a Grand Suite as that is what I purchased.  Actually I only had a Deluxe YC, then I called and upgraded to YC GS.

I see Divina is going to Miami and Meraviglia to PC.  Mera has no YC GS so I guess I need a Royal YC suite.LOL

I see Seashore has YC GS cabins at a massive price increase, not my problem.  I am actually on the Seashore in December for a b2b.

I agree with your "Their screw up, they pay" as I am quite certain had I made the mistake I would have ended up paying severely with them.  There would be no "I understand you made a mistake...we will just cancel it and you can get off scot free". With it being less than 40 days out they would have not only hit me with the deposit penalty but the entire amount as a penalty.
