gabbygrrl Posted September 27, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 27, 2021 Hi all, we just saw the new Covid protocols and are very impressed with what they offer. We are now thinking of taking a cruise before the end of the year. We are both fully vaccinated and with the at-home testing options, it's super easy to test 24hrs prior to sailing. However I can't seem to find out if everyone needs to test at the end of the sailing, in order to get off of the ship. Does anyone have that info? Rare Ferry_Watcher Posted September 27, 2021 #2 Share Posted September 27, 2021 There was no covid testing for disembarking passengers returning from Alaska. If there were foreign passengers who needed a Covid test before flying home to their own country, the ship may have provided a test as a courtesy, but other that that possible scenario, no mass testing of disembarking passengers. Northern Aurora Posted September 27, 2021 #3 Share Posted September 27, 2021 I am posting from the Millennium and am on a B2B. When the B2B passengers received our COVID tests just before turnaround day several other passengers (non B2B) were also being tested. I wondered if they were Canadians who would be flying home.
AlbertaCruisers Posted September 27, 2021 #4 Share Posted September 27, 2021 I confirm that for Canadians flying home, Celebrity gives you the PCR test you need to fly home. We were on the Equinox, August 27 out of Fort Lauderdale, there was no required testing for anyone that is vaccinated to get off the ship. As noted, they did provide the tests we needed as Canadian's to fly home (a requirement of the Canadian government), and it is my understanding that unvaccinated children had to be tested before getting off the ship. I think any unvaccinated adults (if any are permitted) also need to be tested before getting off the ship.
jpc7734 Posted September 27, 2021 #5 Share Posted September 27, 2021 Canadian here, just left the Edge. They provided testing to get us home two days before disembark. They left a note in the room the day before with a time and location. We arrived almost exactly at the time there was nobody else there other than the medical staff. Very well organized, quick and painless swab and we were on our way back to the bar. Results in our room the next morning no issues at all getting home. Great job on all fronts by Celebrity. 2
Covepointcruiser Posted September 27, 2021 #6 Share Posted September 27, 2021 Unvaccinated adults should not be allowed on the ships. Seabourn is not allowing any unvaccinated passengers. On a cruise around Greece we were all tested before we boarded the ship and also before we debarked. We had to show both our vaccination paperwork and our negative COVID test results at the airport.

They have to be PCR tested 3 days before and retested before boarding.

Just returned and no testing at the end of the cruise. B2B's and Children are tested as well as those requiring testing to fly to their home country are provided on the ship last day. Rare DCPIV Posted September 28, 2021 #9 Share Posted September 28, 2021 Basically, if you need to be tested to get off or go home, then Celebrity will do the testing on board and at their expense. You'll have an opportunity to schedule the test, and the test likely will be conducted on the day before debarkation day.
