Why did they let others get a vaccine and not me.

 

They said cause rules have changed and I can travel with mixed vaccine.

I am so sorry to hear this!  Are they also turning back Quebecois who are coming in for a third shot to be cruise-compliant?

I don't know.

 

I was told since I'm not travelling for a while rhey won't give it to me.

Would you be willing to try again in Montreal a little closer to your departure date?  Or to try a walk-in vaccination clinic in Gatineau, which would be closer to you?  (Don't give up just yet.)

Yes, my daughter had to provide proof of upcoming travel to receive her 3rd shot in Gatineau last week.  Good luck to everyone trying to get this done.

As there seems to be a good number of CC members in the Ottawa area needing a 3rd shot, including @K_e_short, can you share the name of the Gatineau location?

It would be disheartening to read about a bunch of people succeeding in obtaining the 3rd shot, then to show up at a clinic hoping to be treated equitably, only to have your hopes dashed.  But please don't give up. 

 

When is your cruise? Over Christmas?

Sounds like the bean counters got wind of what was happening and shut it down. 

I hope the rules change for the better and you will be able to get a 3rd shot, or the cruise lines' change their policies prior to your cruise date.

Very disheartening.  
 

Sounds like in addition to proof of imminent travel proof of unacceptably of mixed doses would be helpful, eg Celebrity FAQs.

We have a cruise November 6. I don’t think he had to show paperwork for this but he had it available. He also suffers from severe asthma so had he prescription meds in hand as proof also. Sounds like the rules are shifting somewhat.

I'm so sorry to hear that you weren't allowed.  If I remember correctly, they did ask when I was travelling (end of Oct.), but did not have to prove this, nor did I have documents with me.  I find it hard to believe that a few Ontarians would cause them to change.  It's possible that you just were unlucky with the person you spoke with.  I had 2 other clinics on my list as backup just in case I was turned away at the convention centre.  They weren't far from there.  Perhaps your date of travel is, in fact, too far away at the moment?

I told them December because if I can get a 3rd dose I will travel.

 

She said it was too far away and I needed proof of my travel plans.

She sounded like I needed to show my plane tickets.

 

Then when I said L.A. she said that I travel there with mixed vaccine.

 

Then when I said it was for a cruise she said the rules are changing and I can travel .

 

Then when I said I couldn't travel she said it was too early.

 

Maybe I will try in Gatineau.

 

The positive is we registered for the Quebec qr code.

Address is 50 Maissoneuve Blvd.  She called first (1-877-644-4545) and got verbal approval to come get the shot.  She had to almost beg once she arrived for them to give her the shot.  She needed to provide proof of December travel and of prior AZ/Pfizer shots.  If you try this method to get your 3rd shot, take the name of the person who gives you verbal approval to go.  Good luck!

Thank you for sharing. I have double Spikevax  shots (Moderna, but trying to keep up with the name change) so I won't need these services, but I'm sure that others will benefit from your additional information.
