Radio - Thank you for all your pictures and posts. I'm enjoying following along. If you're out for your morning stroll, could you tell me if the chess sets are still somewhere along the Central Park area? I saw some benches posted from your morning stroll. After watching the Queen's Gambit, I was thinking of maybe polishing off some of my old skills there. However, sailing solo might make that challenging! Could start a game and go by and see if anyone else moves the other side. That could be fun!

I will check for you. . .

I've enjoyed following your experiences, Radio. Thanks!

A couple of questions regarding covid protocol: Are there still "sharing tables" in the main dining room? We've always enjoyed sitting at a table for 8 or 10 for the socialization.

Does RC do "spot" covid testing of its passengers throughout the cruise?

Is there any accommodations for a person who has difficulty walking from the ship to the pool at Coco Cay? I remember that it was a long walk from the gangway to the beginning of the island.

Thanks again for your updates.

Faloon.

Was on Oasis last week - there were 2 chess tables in Central Park, we played a few times.

We are also on this sailing.
I can add that we went to Chill Island around 9:00am and easily walked off the ship with no line. We walked to Chill Island and found great lounge chairs in the shade under a palm tree with an umbrella with no problems. We were behind the lifeguard station and were an easy swim - or walk at low tide, to the swim up bar area.  There were also plenty of loungers with umbrellas in the sun too. We were near the restrooms, a small bar and also an easy walk for plenty of food. There were lots of guys available to take drink orders or give you a Coco Loco.
We have done the Coco Beach Club before on another cruise, and it was good, but now I’m thinking that was a waste of money! Beautiful day with no extra expenses!

I enjoy a dessert or light snack in the evening, after the shows.

With the Windjammer (buffet) closed completely after lunch, it appears that the only places to eat between 9:00 pm and midnight are the surcharged restaurants.  Am I reading the restaurant schedules correctly?

Cafe Promenade is open 24 hrs

Boardwalk Doghouse is open until 7pm

Sorrento's is open until 2:00 am   Playmakers is open until 11:00 pm ($)

Johnny Rockets is open until 10 pm ($)

Portside BBQ is open untill 9pm ($)

I hope this helps. . .

There is no -spot- Covid testing, that I have seen or heard of onboard. There is a complimentary ride from the ship off of the pier in CocoCay. There is also a shuttle that will transport you around the island of CocoCay. I and not aware of any sharing tables in the dining room.

THANK YOU for taking the time from your vacation to provide this great information.  Very helpful for our Nov 7th sailing.

Maybe good to add that you will be tested if tracing links you close to a COVID positive individual or obviously if you have symptoms.

I don't disagree, but they are not using tracelets for contact tracing.  Other than someone in your traveling party, or maybe an MDR waiter, I'm not sure how they would know that you were close to someone who tested positive.

Good morning everyone, and Welcome to DAY 5 of "LIVE" from Oasis of the Seas.

We arrived in Nassau, and we are sharing the piers with Mariner if the Seas, and Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady.

The forecast for today is sunny and hot, 86 f. It already feels like is at least 80°f.

I haven't decided what I'll be doing today, but I am not doing an excursion. I may just walk around like I often do and see what is up. Yesterday really wore me out, being in the sun for 5 hours. .  I slept through dinner, but no worries. There is plenty to food on board. I was able to find something that hit the spot.

Here are a few images from early this morning.

Thanks for tuning in.

hi Radio,

with regards to Coco Cay- do you have to pay for each area on the island?

ie.  We are going on Symphony of the Seas in Feb- my son will want to do the waterslides, my hubby and I probably pool and beach maybe, do you pay one price for the whole island or do they charge different fee for each location you visit?

thanks,

There is a fee for the Water park, but not the beach. Most beaches are free with the exception of Coco Beach Club Beach.

The majority of the island is free. Thrill Waterpark will cost money and the cocoa beach club will cost money. Normal beach loungers are free of charge all over the islander, same with the large oasis lagoon pool.

I'm curious to know how things are being handled in the casino regarding covid protocols?  We sail on the Ovation on Friday and I'm trying to get an idea before we go.  Are masks required?  Do they still allow smoking?  Is there any social distancing on the tables?  I've been given different information from each Casino Royale call center rep I've spoken to.  If you don't mind sharing details, I'd sure appreciate it!  Hope you have a fabulous cruise and that the casino is VERY Radio friendly!

We sailed on Oasis 9/12. Casino....masks were not required but if you wish to wear one feel free. There was no "social distancing"  can't really expect in a Casino that small. Good news over 99% of passengers were vaccinated and EVERYONE had a negative covid test. Staff can not leave ship...only in coco cay.  They do allow smoking. Half the casino is non smoking but that does not totally help

is the V MDR still shoulder to shoulder on the 2 tops? read about that in another live review. if so are all the tables that close or would it be possible to wait for a less 'tight' table somewhere. i'm unfamiliar with the layout of the MDR and if it changed to due things.

Hello everyone, and good day. The Sea is Calling Welcome to “LIVE” from Oasis of the Seas

I will be heading north tomorrow to sail Oasis of the Seas from Cape Liberty.  This will be my first Cruise since Nov 2019 (Queen Mary 2, transatlantic) Wow, it has been almost 24 months since I was able to post “LIVE” My Covid Test today was =Negative=, so I am ready to sail.

There has been a lot of media attention about Oasis of the Seas, being the first Oasis Class ship sailing from the NY metro area. (Bayonne, NJ). This ship was supposed to sail last year (from Cape Liberty) and Royal Caribbean has been marketing this ship since November 2019 when she completed her $165 million amplification. (For her 10 year anniversary)

I will attempt to point out most, if not all of the new features, including:

·         Reimagined, Caribbean-inspired pool deck.

·         Splashaway Bay kids Aquapark.

·         The Lime & Coconut signature bar.

·         Perfect Storm trio of waterslides.

·         Ultimate Abyss – the tallest slide at sea.

·         Music Hall inspired by the Quantum Class Ships

·         Portside BBQ, the cruise line’s first barbecue concept.

·         Spotlight Karaoke, dedicated karaoke venue.

·         Mexican grab-and-go fare at El Loco Fresh

·         Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade

·         Bionic Bar, with the dynamic duo of robotic bartenders.

·         Royal Escape Room – Mission Control: Apollo 18.

I don’t think I named all of the new features, but I will attempt to point them out throughout the week. I also plan to show all of the new protocols that have been implemented on Oasis of the Seas.

I am hoping for good weather next week, and I am looking forward to entering the Passenger Terminal at Cape Liberty on October 3, 2021.

There will be much more coming in just a few days . . . Thanks for tuning in.

Radio...thanks for you pix and posts, They help with counting down to the 10/24 cruise. Question: Are the coco cola freestyle machines part of the Deluxe Beverage Pkg? It lists fountain soda, but the info about the CCFM says you need a cup with a chip in it? If its included, do I need a specific cup or can I use a Tervis or other type of cup? Thanks. Trying to plan on what I need to bring on the ship for sf/or zero sugar soda, I know I can ring a 12 pack. Appreciate your help.☺️
