Being around a lot of people who have spread COVID in their families, that Day 2 test doesn’t mean much.  Those on the cruise should isolate and watch for symptoms.  I know a family who had one positive on Day 1, one on Day 4, one on Day 7, and one on Day 8 of a quarantine.  All three of the cases in quarantine tested positive at least once and some 4 times before testing positive, so a Day test only means you do not have COVID On Day 2- nothing more and COVID will continue to spread until people realize the danger is real for 7-14 days after exposure.

Thanks @CineGraphic for sharing information that might help stop the spread, your efforts are appreciated,  no matter which date format you use…..

Sad to hear about people catching covid.

IMO lateral flow testing should be done at very regular intervals on any cruise... at least every 2-3 days. Covid can test positive in 3 days after contact so why aren't the cruise lines taking this seriously? To test before and then not again until disembarkation is not adequate to catch infections and stop transmission.

It means you may not have detectable levels of Covid-19 that day, but you may be infected anyway.

That’s very considerate of that passenger to want to make others aware and order to help protect. I hope that it is an isolated case.

Or at least it stays under general population rate (2%) and that they remain asymptomatic

We were on the cruise before this.  I got pinged the morning we got off and a friend also got pinged a few days later.  One of us had close contact with someone who tested positive on the sea day and one on the day we were in Belfast.

We both took PCR test and tested negative
