Which ship?

I am looking at two identical 5 night itineraries.   One is on the Elation and the other on the Sunrise.    I haven't been on either ship.    Which would you choose and why?   Thanks.

Better check the sunrise because I think that might be the boat that still in drydock. If it hasn’t started cruising yet I would choose the other one

The Carnival Sunrise is in Nassau today. The Carnival Radiance is currently enroute to Freeport from Cadiz, Spain, and the Carnival Sunshine remains in the shipyard at Cadiz.

Sunrise is not in dry dock.  We sailed on her in October.

I just got off Sunrise about a week and a half ago.  I've been uploading the pictures and story here on Cruise Critic a little at a time as I finish sections.  I haven't been on Elation but we did enjoy Sunrise.

 

I think Sunrise is a little bigger than Elation.  Elation is Fantasy class and Sunrise (while I don't know what class) is similar in size to Conquest.

Sunrise is a nice ship, one of now three fully refurbished in the Sunshine Class.  I'd sail her again in a heartbeat.  Elation is one of 4 remaining Fantasy Class ships; Carnival's oldest and smallest.

Sunrise.  It's newer and has nice upgrades.

Different home ports, too.  Elation is out of Port Canaveral and Sunrise is out of Miami.  I don't know if that might influence your decision or not.  Either way, you'll be on a ship and that's what it's all about!

Don’t know if it matters to you, but if you enjoy having a sofa in your cabin, then don’t book Elation. There’s no sofa, only a straight back chair. We will never sail on her again!  I would definitely choose the Sunrise any day!
