No, 930 was my normal cruise breakfast time. Today I got off the ship at 8ish and was out the terminal by 830.

Do you know how early the testing site opened?  You could have been off the ship much earlier than 8:30 if you so chose.  Would make it more likely for an earlier flight.  Thanks.

We loved Gigi’s the best. ate there several times…Pizza and location, sitting outside, was great.

we found the buffet sub par. We would get breakfast there which was good because we got eggs to order but lunch and dinner was not appealing. I think because there was not enough turn over of the food because of low capacity. The made to order salads were excellent though.

I'm not sure when the site opens, probably when the first passengers can get off? I think any flight earlier then noon would be very stressful.

For B2B,  they had you meet in one of the dining rooms the last day before arriving PE.  Gave a short briefing about the process and options (excursions, going off independently) and then did Covid tests.  You didn’t wait for results and only got called if you weren’t negative.  I heard everyone was negative.

Turnaround day was same as before, we met in dining room at 10am were escorted through customs and immigration and back onto the ship.

I meant in Dominica.  I was wondering if they would let you wander the port without any excursion since that's what at least one port that I've heard about is allowing.

NO they did not

Thank you so much. As I've mentioned elsewhere, much to my surprise - having more than 30 cruises under our belts - this is our first B2B, so we weren't familiar with the turnaround day process even before Covid. I'm very glad to hear they're doing the Covid tests the day before, which makes a lot of sense (though we had read elsewhere they were doing it on turnaround day).

One additional question, if I may: once you re-boarded the ship, were you allowed to go back to your cabin and/or move about the ship as usual? I had also read elsewhere that passengers were required to wait in a lounge for a period of time (up to an hour) after re-boarding before they were allowed to go back about their vacation activities.

Thank you again for this very helpful information, and I hope you're enjoying your cruise.

I recently purchased an inexpensive USB hub, which I can plug up to 4 or 5 USB devices into, but only uses one regular electrical outlet.  It's not a surge protector, so it's allowed. Also, they don't take up much room at all, which is much better than a power strip.  Just an idea.

Same here works like a champ

On tap at Salty Dog pub. In addition to Heineken and Newcastle, they have Strongbow cider and something called Alligem Blonde - which I am not certain was actually available.

Blond WAS NOT available...  😞

We could go straight back to our cabin and enjoying he ship.  We did have the same cabin if your changing cabins there may be a delay. There may also be a wait in the terminal if for some reason there is a delay in customs cleaning the ship.

Wonderful, thank you again. We do have the same cabin.

Yes, didn’t attend, but we were seated in Amalfi behind the chef’s table and saw it take place twice.

Thank you.  We had planned to do one, but were worried they would not mix people from different groups.  B.

Thank you for all your posts, it has been much appreciated.  From the comment above it appears you had the same table every night, did you request same table and same wait staff or was it just given to you, that is what I am looking for and was not sure we would receive it with the new dining way.

I had made a standing reservation every night prior to the cruise and I was seated at the same table every night, even when I came in 30 min early or late. We didn't specifically ask for it.

Same as others who commented- we reserved table for 2 at the same time for every night and were seated at the same table each night without specifically requesting it. Funny thing is, we had reserved Capri because we prefer the mid ship dining room, but we’re changed to Amalfi, which is aft. But we liked our table and wait staff, so we didn’t ask to be changed back to Capri.

What is the situation in the ports? Do you have to book shore excursions through Princess???

Dominica was the only port that required you to book shore excursions from Princess. All others you could do on your own.

Agree with pretty much everything you said. Gigi’s outside dining was a highlight of this cruise for me.

buffet breakfast was great in some ways - loved the banana smoothies, yogurt parfaits, muesli and fresh fruit cups. Hot items, however, were not always hot - even the made to order omelets we had on the first morning were not hot. But there was a nice variety at breakfast, including grab and go quiches and bagels w/various toppings on different days.

the made to order salad was a highlight at both lunch and dinner. I always found good options for lunch, but the time we did the buffet for dinner we were disappointed by the lack of options. Turned out to be German night, which is not a personal favorite. Although the apple strudel with vanilla sauce was terrific. We couldn’t find anywhere that told you ahead of time if there was a theme in the buffet.

International Cafe was also a highlight. Nice variety of pastries (including peanut butter cookies on request) and always available sandwiches and specialty salads, plus some delicious hot items like a spiced lentil pie and various quiches. At breakfast there were donuts and muffins, plus muesli, fruit salad and yogurt parfaits, breakfast sandwiches, and various other hot items. We only had breakfast in the dining room one day because we preferred the options at IC and the buffet.

on Lido, Slice Pizza was excellent. We were disappointed with the burgers from Salty Dog Grill - found them greasy and not very tasty, so only ate there once. But we enjoyed Slice several times for a quick bite after returning from port too hungry to take the time to make ourselves presentable for indoor dining.

Advanced car rental….met us at the port….includes a gps with all of the sirs/beaches listed. He was waiting for us when we got off.

I checked for Advanced Car Rental on the Internet and found no location in the United States or Florida.

Can you post the contact information?
