Are the pool tables open all day to use or do you have to request the cue sticks somewhere? Thank you for taking the time out to post.  I know there are pool tables in Playmakers as well, same question.

So, I think so. As long as the doors are open , you can go in and play. the music hall has 3 tables. The sticks are out , next to the table, or on the table 😊

Silly question…did you get rubber or cloth “vaccinated” wristbands? We’re sailing over Christmas and I’m really hoping for rubber ones.

Cloth…..we  had rubber ones on symphony in august. They actually forgot to give them to us in the terminal at check in, and we had to go to guest services after we boarded to get them on this sailing. The rubber ones also can be removed, vs. the cloth ones which cannot and get saturated in the shower 😂

Don't understand the bands anyway.  As far as I know all guests are required to be vaxxed, with exception of children under 12?

I thought people with a medical exemption could sail?

I also thought because some venues are vax only, if some people in your party are not, you are considered non vaccinated, and can’t frequent vax only venues. Might have that wrong tho 😂

Congratulations on your retirement - more time for cruising!  Loving your live review.

We RoyalUp'd to a JS on deck 9 ($100 pp) on this sailing, also. Love the extra bath, but ours is a tad different with two toilets and combo tub/shower. Your layout is what we had on Ovation - a separate tub & shower but one toilet.

Continue to enjoy our last few days onboard.  BTW: I was told we use the same TA.

Donna

What cabin are you in?  We have 9640 on Odyssey in April and curious about the layout.

Five days is definitely not enough time to explore a new ship.

Odyssey definitely feels fresh, and has a certain classiness that makes her unique.

the art, the finishes, the technology feels superior to other RCI ships. The only exception is the Schooner Bar…. Definitely didn’t have the same cool nautical finishes I’ve seen on other ships, and has a weird layout.

The shops on board seem larger and definitely have a lot of inventory. If you are looking for a watch, this is the ship to board. There were three of them.

This caught my eye….if you want jewelry constructed of the same steel they used on the ship….

they had a cute C & A charm in this photo below that I wanted to add to my Pandora bracelet - but learned it would not fit when I tried to purchase it

A lone photo of the the schooner bar….. other than the ship wheel and a few nets, that  seemed to be the extent of the nautical decor. It’s a pretty small venueD004BBFC-735D-43CD-810B-5AB136DCB19B.thumb.jpeg.5fefb6fdbbeab9df41d737d53271d1ac.jpeg

the entrance to it closest to Izumi is more like a hallway, and not really “connected “ to the main area. They held trivia and had musicians there,

note that it was pretty full every time I passed by.

the novelty of this venue has definitely  worn off, and there could be much better use of this space…..

Show photos coming up next….

there was only two showings of the Effectors the entire week….. hence this is what the theatre looked like in the fully “vaccinated” section . No social distancing required between parties.

just an observation that Royal isn’t really consistent in its practices. Why socially distance tables in bar venues only open to fully vaccinated, and then cram people into a theatre shoulder to shoulder for an hour? 8EAE5B1D-1BD6-4A49-A1D4-23DF19B15D4F.thumb.jpeg.5192114fe68708f88ee944658c0c8355.jpeg

🤷🏼‍♀️

another random thought….. I had read on social media that there might be some inaugural goodies on this sailing, since it was originally scheduled as the inaugural, and the 2, 2 night press and TA sailings proceeded it. but no such luck.

we did get some Effectors trading cards, a screen cleaner wipe, and a magazine type book.

😔

Departure info...would have been minutes from cabin to curbside, but somehow, at some point during check in, the spelling  of my last name got updated such that it didn’t match my passport. So facial recognition was a bust. 😩😬

still fairly quick despite the name spelling snafu 7B2CF6E6-9C0A-4C9F-9722-7A360FB6C6AF.thumb.jpeg.7b7a52a157c436bb2c8060b7175ea3ab.jpeg
